I really love this. Like you said it would fit perfect in a non gaming space because it's not so flashy or in your face. There's a lot of nostalgia for old tech and I could see non gamers wanting these. I'd love a PSP version!

I'm conflicted. They are very nice looking. But I really hope they are using broken/non repairable consoles and controllers for them. I might go for a DIY version and buy a "for parts" handheld off ebay. Might be able to replace the plastic with glass or acrylic too. Thanks for the review.

I like to think that they use reclaimed and reused frames from a thrift store. Almost every frame in our house came from a thrift store and I have never had anyone notice. Also, don't put plastic in direct sunlight! Not like you'd want anything in your game room in direct sunlight... And for that kind of hanging hardware, use painters tape. That's what I do whenever I have to hang something with two points of contact. Make sure to use a level!!

You do have advance but not sp or DS that I saw as of yet. Definitely a lot of broken handhelds out there they could look into!

I’m lucky enough to own an amiibo store display like yours but I’m very interested in how you mount yours? A video on that would be amazing :-)

It has been some time since I did it. But I remmeber there was a metal peice that came with it that you mount to the wall. I used some heavy duty self drillin wall anchors that were rated for a ton of weight. That THING is HEAVY so be sure to use good wall anchors if mounting to drywall, or good screws if mounting to a stud.

$199?!?!?! 😳 For that kind of money, I’m surprised it has plastic instead of glass and the frame showed up with a ding in the frame. It’s not really my aesthetic, but I’m sure there are people who will find this neat.

When you consider the labor and any other overhead costs they have to wrap in to be profitable, that's actually really reasonable. I wonder if they don't use plastic because it's easier to make sure it's shipped in one piece 🤔 This aesthetic makes my autistic brain so happy. I love things like this.
