Once the series is done, it will be away too many hours long for this to be what you described. There's well over 600 games for GameCube.

Just as an FYI, that 18 Wheeler game did in fact start as an arcade game. I know because my old local arcade actually had the cabinet. It was developed by Sega AM2, which is the same division responsible for Virtua Racing, Daytona USA, Virtua Cop, Virtua Fighter, and believe it or not the Hatsune Miku games. It was also where the creator of the Yakuza series got his start in the company.

I will defend this game because it's a really good game that came out early in the systems lifecycle. It dropped when sega was dumping all the dreamcast stuff( Crazy taxi, 18 wheeler, Sonic adventure 1 and 2, Skies of Arcadia) on the cube.

Baten Kaitos is *fantastic* if you ask me, one of those games I'm always happy to see anyone actually recognise because I think it's one of the most underrated gems in the entire console generation.

I mean, he's barely diving into any of these games. He called Baten Kaitos' combat "like Final Fantasy" when it's a card-based system and Beyond Good and Evil a point and click adventure when it's very obviously a Zelda like. I feel like he's spending such a minuscule amount of time with each game that any opinion formed is essentially worthless. This is no different than those videos where people just play segments (or find clips of) every game on a system and upload the compilation.

That was the intention, unfortunately a lot of people didn't like that so I kinda changed it a bit for the next one. Hopefully you can still experience it the same if you recognize which sound effects I put for each result.

I never played the GC version of Backyard Baseball, but I have soooo many fond memories of playing the PC version with my brothers when we were kids. From what I can gather, the original PC version is the best version of the game.

The thing about DVDs is that they sacrificed longevity for convenience. A scratched DVD will never play right again, but I have VHS tapes from the early 80s that still work.

I dont think the video benefits from the long sounds for continuing, gets repetitive. I think it'd be fine if it was just a short beep or chime at low volume.

@@PodFury Exactly, the graphics on RE4 may have been slightly better on GC...but 85% of gamers played the PS2 port with all the extra content.

@@Clay3613 PS2 games 85% of the time looked inferior, but let's forget about that. What really sets the GameCube apart are the outstanding first party exclusives. Unfortunately for Nintendo, Sony also had some outstanding first party exclusives. Those were more aimed at... somewhat older audiences (Ratchet & Clank wasn't exactly a kids game... back then). It's all a matter of perspective really. The battle of the GC and PS2 reminds me a lot of Super Nintendo and Genesis. Two objectively great systems, two very different approaches.

Bomberman Jetters is actually based on a Bomberman anime of the same name that aired in Japan at the time. And no a dub never happened so the game is officially the only time we've heard the characters exclusive to the anime with English voice acting.

Baten Kaitos battle system doesn't have anything in common with final fantasy. It's card based and is one of its best features.

Asterix and Obelix XXL actually did come out in America for the PS2, but it was renamed Asterix and Obelix Kick Buttix. Also the sequel which recently had a remaster is way better.

I feel the original was the better games. The sequel added a huge amount while feeling a bit convoluted in terms of the source material.

The 6th generation has to be one of the best generations for gaming, both the Gamecube and the Playstation 2 are some of my favourite consoles of all time and it marked the birth of the Xbox Series which, whilst I'm not a huge Xbox fan, are still going strong even in the 8th generation. There was also a severe lack of bad consoles, aside from the Nuon.

You should give 4x4 Evo2 another shot! There's a learning curve but it's a really solid racer. Also, it has a hidden GBA racing game that is only accessible with a link cable.

It’s good just how far removed you are from many of these titles and their infamy. You are able to look at things completely open-minded! I was surprised how many times you thought games were perfectly playable and even fun even though they had terrible reviews. Awesome video man I love this format!

Yeah ! They are incredible ! I think that's because he is playing on an emulator. This way you have a better resolution on 3D elements like characters but it obviously don't works on 2D background so they feels more disconnected than in the original console. .... And those games were quite good ! What's with that "undecided"

My mom got me Bomberman Jetters used from a random garage sale probably 15 or 16 years ago. I fell in love with it, and now consider it one of my favorite games of all time, despite its flaws. I guess nostalgia is a huge bias for me, but that game was such a formative experience for me.

Aw, hell yeah, dude, Bomberman Jetters! Fun fact: Bomberman Jetters is a tie-in game to a Bomberman anime which was never brought to the states or dubbed in English. For some reason Majesco felt it was a good idea to localize and publish this and as such it ends up treating characters you've never met before as pre-established pieces of the series canon- kinda like what Mega Man Legends did. I played the hell out of that game as a teenager and I'm disappointed in myself for putting so much time in it. 😅 Something about it always drew me back, though. I think maybe it was Max and his cool voice.

I've tried to get into Bomberman Generations and I just can't get past the first few levels without getting bored. But Jetters, man I've thought about learning to speedrun it or something just so I have an excuse to play it more haha

Wait till you get to 'Geist', one of my favorite gamecube game of all time and honestly an underated gem. Also Buffy chaos bleed used to scare the crap out of me as a kid, the game becomes way more hardcore towards the end.

I finished the game having fond memories of it, sadly I doubt "WALTERS" is going to become a meme anytime soon. It really can't decide what it wants to be and that hurts the looks from people who didn't invest long enough to see all the mechanics in it. Also fuck that second to last boss fight, pure hot garbage.

It's a shame Geist wasn't a big hit. It really had a neat idea behind its FPS gameplay. Even more of a shame that it never got rereleased on any Nintendo system since despite being a Nintendo owned property. I hear the devs closed down and apparently butted heads with Nintendo over their vision for Geist. But Nintendo being the one who paid for the game, they got the devs to make Geist the way Nintendo wanted it.

First game, 1080 avalanche. Oh the late 90´s and early 2000´s when extreme sports were at their peak. Even Nintendo did a few games based on them and 1080 avalanche is one of their best ones.

I was going to jokingly suggest you review the lineups of consoles with hundreds of games... so mad respect for actually doing it. Gamecube is maybe not underrated (because almost nobody speaks badly about it) but it is overlooked. It had far fewer games than PS2 but, pound for pound, its library more than holds its own. It certainly has a better library than the original Xbox.

I remember BMX XXX was on all 3 systems but the GC version was uncensored. The ps2 and Xbox versions had a bunch of edits and the GC version left original.

You may run into a problem with Phantasy Star Online, since the servers for Gamecube are no longer up, so I reccomend just playing a fan server on PC. The game is basically the same, with the exception of some missing link cable stuff. There is a way to connect to fan servers for the gamecube version, but it's a bit complicated.

I loved the Batman Begins game growing up, only played a bit of Rise of Sin Tzu's at my cousin's and it was a decent enough co-op game Unfortunately I never got to play Vengance and looks like I dodged a bullet with Dark Tomorrow

That Jimmy Neutron Twonkies game is one of the best games on the gamecube. I got through all but the last level as a kid so, I don't know how you're having issues. Batman Begins is also god-tier.

Did you record this out of order? All-Star Baseball was the SECOND series you covered where you skipped the middle entries. Asterix and Obelix have a WEIRDLY solid run of games to boot. I know I played one a few times via rental on the Genesis and really loved it. Battalion Wars... well it's part of the WARS franchise that lived from the NES days up to the DS killing it forever by forgetting that it's always been about over the top campiness, so yeah, it's just a coincidence that all the Army Men games before this were also Tongue-in-Cheek and weird.

I feel like it's weird how the GC ports seem to have the most fit and finish of that generation, even with it's worse file size. maybe it's nintendo's iron grip on the system
