If you think about the game cube too much, it’s kinda scary. There’s just this cube in a vast nothingness and it has games that you can play, and it just morphs into this translucent cube that floats. And your right in front of it!!! Where are we right now!!! What is this cube!?!?!
Unlimited Amazing I feel the same way with the Ps2 start up. Just a void with cubes that morph into towers replicating how many games you have saved and if you don't have any games saved then you're left staring at a void!
The start menu for any system is terrifying. GameCube: a cube in vast nothingness with droning sounds. PS2: a series of swirling lights in a black void, also with droning sounds, but ten times louder. Xbox: a sickly green, mechanical complex(?) without end that’s completely silent save for the occasional otherworldly muttering in the background. Wii: the Shop Channel theme. That is all. PS3: more normal than the other four, but it’s still eerily silent and lonely. The first console that decided it didn’t want to terrify us if we needed to alter the system was the Xbox 360.
