Gotta say, I didnt grew up with the game cube, but I grew up with the wii. My whole life I was playing mkwii, nsmbw, etc, sometime ago, I was able to get my hands on a gamecube indigo controller and memory all the shit ya need for playing gamecube on the original wii. I got Zelda wind waker cause I thought "Hmm, I realy liked Ocarina and Majoras Mask's remakes on my 3ds, and also the original ones on my very real and legitimate n64, so it must be good." Long story short, I played it, I loved it, I 100% it, it became my favorite game of all time, the grafics that are strangely familiar and nostalgic, the ost that is, no joke, the best ost Ive heard since fucking celeste, inpacable gameplay and story, seriously, the only bad things in that game are da pirate becoming zelda out of nowere and the triforce quest, everything else is PEAK gaming. After that I replayed the game some times and its always a blast, now Im looking to get paper mario and msrio kart cause I loved the ones on the wii. So yeah, the gc to wii to me was peak gaming, to does who have a wii collecting dust in the corner, revive that shit and play it, get some new games, experience that thing cause is realy a demonstration of what is in mine and many others people favorite era of gaming.
Great video, I wouldn’t say the GameCube was peak gaming and this metric can be gauged by its relativity today compared to PS2 and OG XBox but the GC had its charm above all else.
I disagree. Peak gaming is now. Emulating everything from 360 and below on a Series X, VR on Ps5, and console quality games on the go with Switch curbstomp the GC.
No the Switch or the PS2 was peak gaming. I owned a gamecube as well as a PS2 and though I loved the Zelda, smash and Pokemon games on the GC I found the library of games quite small compared to the PS2. The PS2 such a huge library of awesome titles for everyone. The Gamecube did not. Just as a small exercise, what system seller game do you recommend for the RPG fan? Well? Skies of Arcadia? Good but hardly a system seller. Meanwhile the PS2 had Final Fantasy, Persona, Dragon Quest, Kingdom Hearts and more. No I would not call the Gamecube Peak gaming outside of the diehard Smash community. But the Gamecube did have some really good games and I do love the system.
