Addition: I should have talked about the T4 Kaleid from GameSir during the budget of the year segment as that controller has all the same features plus more for $5 more although often on sale for the same $40-45. I picked the G7 (and SE variant) because they are wired Xbox controllers that also work on PC, as where the T4 is a wired Switch controller. If you are only playing on PC this really doesn't matter and you should get the T4 Kaleid. I honestly also forgot this controller launched this year, for some reason I thought I reviewed it late last year, sorry about that everyone. T4 if only on PC, G7 if you want to use it on Xbox too. Kaleid Controller Review: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-l3cNAhmuQfA.html G7 SE Review ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YgbqjRiRkZ8.html Correction: the GameSir G8 Galileo mobile controller is $80, not $100 making it even better.
Just delivered today, got the Vader 3 pro with phone mount, case and charging dock for £66 + Taxes = £79 to the UK. Unbelievable 7 day delivery from China. Just sussing everything out. Hopefully it's as good as people say. Oh and happy new year......
Sale figures 😂. Obviously the casual playstation users will pick the edge up ahead of any other modded controller. Just having 2 back paddles makes it almost useless
Damn this is amazing! Can't wait to watch it all. All the hard work is paying off man. Hopefully one day you can influence companies for better controllers overall for the industry 👊🏽
Vader 3 Pro is my controller of the year thanks to this channel. I even bought the dock for it that allows the dongle to be plugged in, which stopped the disconnect issue I was having. I do want to try the Turtle Beach controller, but the price is keeping me at bay for now. I did try the Gamesir kaelid, Machenike G5 pro, and Elite 2. But the Vader 3 Pro is just so great.
14:39 100% agreed! Flydigi Vader 3 Pro has been my mainstay controller since the day I got it. Nothing comes close. The additional buttons are invaluable for my flight sim stuff! Especially since I can even bind them to keyboard/mouse actions
I don't usually have that much money to spend on controllers so I'm moreso exclusive to the budget range, but I was able to get my hands on the GameSir G7 (the SE hadn't released yet!) and I've been absolutely *thrilled* with just how good of a controller it is. They really nailed it with the feel and use, and their app is absolutely painless to use and does everything as it should. Excellent controller. My runnner-up would be PowerA's newest RGB controller, the 'Lumectra', which I feel addresses almost every complaint I had with their older Spectra Infinity, and even improves on aspects that I wasn't expecting (no stick drift out of the box!). If it had hall effect sensors, it would've been my #1, but then again I suspect that GameSir would still rank above it if I had the SE on hand. :P If only I had more money to work with!
I love your reviews and the work that you put into them, but i really think that you should find a way to disclose your bias towards mechanical buttons and games where the dpad is an afterthought. I got the flydigi, and while its dpad FEELS amazing, functionally its pretty trash for fighting games. Half and full circle motions miss the down input maybe 70% of the time if i rapid fire them, whereas i can hit like 98% on a standard xbox controller. So apparently if you use the dpad too quickly it eats inputs. Which sucks cuz otherwise its perfect. I've also bought the gamesir t4 kaleid on your suggestion, and the dpad, while it wasnt eating inputs like the flydigi, was just machined way too tight to use quickly and still be comfortable, plus its mechanical buttons require so much force that button presses dont happen any faster than regular membranes, so its only a positive if you insist on mechanical. (I'm not anti mech switches btw, these just dont work well if your primary input method over long periods are the face buttons used quickly) I really think you should take this into consideration for your reviews. Could save people money and trips for amazon returns. Different games require different things, and if your primary way of testing is playing shooters, there will be aspects of the controllers you review that you miss or dont even think about. That said though, keep up the good work! Youre still one of the best!
@@elbert5208 im not hardcore enough in platform fighters to get controllers specialized for them. I only play rivals of aether, and i use whatever my daily driver is to play it. But im guessing the main features that you'd look for are stick tension and octagonal gates for the sticks.
Have you heard of the Snakebyte Xbox controllers? They have hall effect thumbsticks and come in a few variants, one with back buttons and one without back buttons. Would love to get your opinion on those controllers.
I've been watching for a while now. Great work, mate. You have really matured as a creator and found your groove. Keep up the good work. Love from Sydney, Australia.
How tf is this channel not bigger!? I recently found you by way of looking up a ps portal review (which by the way, you were CORRECT- that thing is trash!!) and you’ve fast become my favorite channel on here. It’s like the big boy gaming channel. Dropping a few f-bombs, keeping it real, no bs, mixed with some ADD
For me controller of the year was the Edge. No one is talking about it but the Steam support for the FN and paddles baked right in is Amazing! I tried the nova 7, turtle beach 700 gen2, stealth pros, the EPOS pc38xs and the Audeze Maxwells, I went with the Maxwells. They are pretty amazing. Gave the EPOS ones to my wife. Didn’t try the Nova pros though. Also got the Anda seat XL gray and it’s pretty amazing. Sold a bunch of stuff so Santa was nice to me this year. Also got a Razer V2 Hyperspeed Mouse. Yeah it was pretty much my whole setup this Christmas.
thats a good point about the steam buttons/mapping support. I have heard nothing but good things and recommendations about the maxwells. I am glad to hear you had a gaming tech loaded Christmas, I also need to sell all my old gear that no longer gets used like it should
You know what, since the actual game awards really REALLY disappointed me for many reasons.... I dont really have an hour to sit but youre getting a sub with bell just for seemingly giving an actual damn.
I have actually heard ALOT of disappointment from the official VGA's this year from RU-vidr videos, to articles about peoples thoughts. Hope my event didn't leave Gamer's as flaccid
I love the community part. Too bad VCuda wasn't available, but it was really cool getting a variety of opinions. Also, I was a bit skeptical about the game awards, as I rarely watch reviews anymore. But, they're great. I appreciate that you kept things light with minimal detail. No spoilers here, just nice quick recommendations.
for 2024 could you also do a CCOTY (competitive controller of the year) for things like button input latency, stick latency, polling rate. I think the PS4/5 are still in the lead right now.
Nice suit brother keep up the amazing job you do 🎉 and thanks for the video you are one of kind when it comes to the controller gang that's why you are controller 🎓 captain 💪
8bitdo Bluetooth Ultimate is my controller of year. It’s not too heavy and having all the features of pro controller minus 2 back buttons (I’m ok with only 2 in the back). The D-pad is spot in and there are so many systems it can connect to. Thanks for the video and Happy New Year!
I got both Vader 3 Pro and 8bitdo Ultimate recently. As much as I like and respect 8bitdo controllers, Flydigi one feels so smooth and almost flawless, I can't shake the feeling of cheapness and roughness from Ultimate now... Even Pro 2 feels better built IMO. I still like it tho, but it took exclusively the role of a "work horse" and Switch controller now.
I used to praise 8bitdo for their controllers but all controllers I've bought from them have been disappointments, including the Ultimate Bluetooth, I completed Blasphemous with that controller and you slide with RT and it doesn't bottom out anymore w(hat I mean is that it doesn't reach 100% when you fully press it and that's a problem in some games) but, for whatever reason, the bluetooth connection is better than any other controller I have for the NS and the D-pad is the best arm for fighting games so at least its got that. Right now my favorite controllers come from Gamesir and of course, Flydigi
I got the Vader 3 Pro because of your review and been using it for months now and I still feel like I stole from our local online seller for getting it below like 60$.
After I saw the COTY part I started to look for some long term reviews about the FLYDIGI Vader 3 pro and there were a lot of complaints about the spring in the sticks going bad so it wont center correctly and get wiggly, that is why I am afraid to buy it. I would use it mainly for warzone,so it would be used "hard".
love your content bro i went with fusion pro 3 this yr because of your review, awesome controller for my needs, hope you have a great new year pumping out great content on new products ...cheers.
Scuf Envision is my favorite. It fits my hands perfectly and i love it as my main mmo controller. its op af. the software is a pain in the ass but the controller is great.
i really wish there was a scuf envision-like controller that worked on either consoles. the envision is by far my favorite controller for fighting games, but half of the fun of fighting games is offline play, where limiting such a good dpad and controller shape combination to windows is just a shame. the extra buttons aren’t even necessary for me besides maybe the back ones. loved the vid btw!
Love the videos. So many controllers.... I want a ps5 style controller to play on the steam deck. hall effect joysticks and some nice back buttons. It seems like Hyper really fits the bill here but if the back buttons are just re-maps of the front buttons then can you use the back buttons for things like steam input? Like you can for back buttons on the steam deck? Does that even exist? lol
Do the controllers control us?..or do we control them? Controllers control the game and we control them, are we the top controller of all time? Love the videos, controllers are tight.
great video, you really have a lot to share, about the zelda game, they wanted to own the game formula because there is a small business called gatcha games making records, like, crazy ammounts of money, so yeah, nintendo is just all about that money OC
Hi I looking for good Xbox series controller buy idk what one is great one the controller I have is my cousin because I buy this Xbox series s I play all Yakuza games
My pick is my 8bitdo Ultimate Wireless Bluetooth controller. I don't think it came out in 2023 but it's still competitive in 2023 to present. It's a pro controller for an affordable price. Can connect via wire with type c, 2.4ghz dongle and Bluetooth. It's perfect for me to use on the switch, pc and my android fone. I just love value buys and this is one of my fav purchases of 2023. I still get tempted to buy other pro controllers just because i like shiny new things but i dont. Realistically the 8bitdo ultimate Bluetooth is all i need.
Well done kev you’ve out done yourself again super appreciative of your content and your delivery of it. I’ve purchase a few controllers baised on your reviews(kbam main) just to find the love for console gaming again. Looking forward to 2024 and the tech to come! Hope you had a great Xmas with the fam and have a happy new year! See you soon! ❤
Nacon 5 does what I needed for PC. The Hall Effect no issue for me. Felt the same for me as the Gamesir G7. I wanted the Flydigi But I got scammed for 100 from them said it was shipped but never received the controller.
dude you know techne???omg i love BOTH your channels and hope you all have a wonderful new year! and by the way, i held the scuff envision pro, and i want one so bad, i am currently using the wolverine with tactile buttons and i cant go back. ONE LOVE STALLION/ETTES
He's is a really cool guy, we just started talking recently but hit it off instantly. One love bro. Enjoy the Razer until you get your hands on the Envision.
I really enjoyed this and agree with most of what you said however I haven’t played most of the games or used the tech you have but I currently own a aim controller however it was before the magnet face plates came in but I’ve been enjoying it since I purchased it
What an amazing video.. Completely unreleated but i am beginning to make a gaming setup and I'm going to eventually get the TurtleBeach Stealth Ultra, a Gaming Desk, and Monitor but I wanna know your opinion on the order I should get things in... I currently just have a T.V Xbox Series X and Stock Controller (After my series 2 broke on me)
Hi ! I play on PC and I would like to replace my Xbor series elite 2 controller for a higher gaming model. I was hesitant about the Scuf Envision and the Aim controller PS5 model. but the Hypr wins the selection, are the paddle are really better on the HYPR ? thank for your help
@@GamerHeavenOfficial Yep I have watched your full review right after. But still hesistating between Aim controller and Hypr. The paddle seems Weaker on the aim controller in Your review in terms of ergonomie for using 4 paddle.
yesir but im searching one that feels the same as ds4 or dualsense with hall effect.. i have gamesir g7 se however it feels lees tension, hollow empty idk@@GamerHeavenOfficial
Such a good video!! I was put off a little by the length but now wish I watched it earlier. Thank you for the time stamps. Keep up the great content and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
@@GamerHeavenOfficial the complaint is with rotation as the friction ring seems to knick at the joystick over time. I technically think this happens with all controllers though with usage
I haven’t had a pro controller since the elite 2 which I sold to a pawn shop after 2 months(stick drift) but that was in 2020 or so. Since then I just buy standard controllers with a Best Buy warranty, every 90 days give or take another $20 and a new controller but the one that lasted the longest was the lunar shift. Two days ago I traded in another one and opted for the TB ultra but of course not in stock so I’m controller-less until next week. I played a lot of great games in 2023 but I had the most fun probably with Lies of P so I gotta give it my goty. For 2024 I’m predicting my goty is more than likely going to black myth wukong but we’ll see how that turns out. Also I think hell blade 2 is going to fall short of expectations. As for stinker of 2024 suicide squad is gonna be hard to beat 😂. Great video love your content and that bit at the begging with the microphone was hilarious. Almost forgot my honorable mention Jedi survivor was plagued with issues but fun af
Hi, GamerHeaven! I was curious if you have experienced any issues with the Turtle Beach Stealth Ultra controller in regards to the sticks rubbing against the anti-friction rings? My GameSir SE had this exact same issue, and I’ve seen reviews stating they had this problem as well. What happens is, the plastic sticks against the plastic rings, rub and wear a groove into the sticks and causes very noticeable friction. It’s almost like the sticks are gliding along sand paper. I really want this to be acknowledged by someone who is as knowledgeable as you are when it comes to this type of stuff. Thanks so much for all you do!
Call Kevin you always kill every single one of your videos my dude thanks for all your great content love watching your stuff so informative dude you're so smart like the way that you like put stuff in like your humor and then plus also the way that you look into all of the specs and everything and just figure everything out for us you do it and I don't have to and I'm thankful for that but I have to tell you one thing. Turn-based combat is amazing if you have any patience and like a thinkers brain like one of those like above and beyond like Bobby Fischer's like really smart... Some of us play video games for different reasons though and I understand your opinion I just don't understand it for me or the reality of it I just understand that the world is full of people that just need to go go go go go go like they're born with crack in their body and I just don't and will never understand how people can't sit and play a game like chess where its strategic and it takes time and everything like that like those old days aren't Dead they're very alive and very well it's just half the planet is like I'm on math and then half the planet is like I can be patient and use my brain
I mainly play PC games some my controller of the year would have to be the Scuff Envision Pro. It's perfect for me since I use it one handed with my mouse since it's not to heavy and thanks to the side button and rear buttons it allows for a lot of options for single hand use. Then I use the Corsair Darkstar RGB wireless, which is like an MMO mouse, where I program most of the inputs. The only issue I have with the mouse is that it's a bit cheap feeling and I have noticed some creaking noises when left clicking. But thankfully it's a bit random and I don't notice it while gaming.
I currently have an elite series 2 for my PC. I only play on PC. Im really leaning on "Scuf envision pro" but do you have any other suggestion that may be a better alternative? It being so new worries me but so far its the one im leaning towards.
Gonna get both an Edge and HYPR controller. If I get a prebuilt signature does it also have the grips around the controller or is that exclusive to the builder?
Hey gamers heaven I have an Alienware r13 and for some reason on every game their is a massive deadzone I’ve tried different controllers, reinstalled windows and have done almost everything any solution to this weird issue
Hey buddy. 1st have you tried this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wKWCCeKQSK0.html 2nd: what game launcher do you mostly/always use?
@@GamerHeavenOfficial ya man I have tried everything in that video, And I play games like fornite, warzone, apex legends. Especially in Fortnite I have my deadzone on the lowest but it still feels so bad. (I use ps4 DualShock controllers)
If the Edge had 4 paddles it would be a no brainer for me. I love the AIM controller I have, and the SCUF PS5 controller is also great as well. Can't recommend HYPR due to the insanely lengthy build times (2 months plus, and doesn't ship from the US).
@@BangSkeeet No doubt, however, atleast you can change the thumbstick modules effortlessly and don't have to send an entire controller back to fix stick drift. It's not perfect and you gotta spend money for a new module but it can be fixed in an instant.
@@BangSkeeet idk what that means hahaha.. if there's no drift I'm happy. If there's drift and I can fix it easily short of spending like 20 bucks, I'm also happy.
The controller of the year is the Portal. It has a screen, how can a controller with mappable buttons even replaceable sticks best a beautiful 1080p screen? Reviews of reviewers have really made me suspicious of their agenda by making confusing statements as to what the Portal is. It's a controller so why would it have Bluetooth audio? You probably have every controller made on your wall, which of them have Bluetooth audio? Reviewers have compared it to the Steamdeck which is very misleading when if anything the Portals controls vs the handheld console controls should have been the only thing compared.
Pure comedy. The Portal has to be the silliest, feature lacking, cash grab hand held this year. You make a good point the Steam Deck isn't comparable (because it's so far superior)
@@GamerHeavenOfficial the Portal is a great controller, the Scuff and Edge have extra mappable buttons for two hundred dollars, how is that better than a screen?
I'm waiting.... SMH let me guess, when faced with FACTS you're no longer going to dignify facts with an answer. A handheld is a stand alone device going all the way back to Coleco with the dots 😂 Gameboy, PSP, Switch, Steamdeck, Ally etc. Are all standalones making them portable consoles. The Portal is not a standalone. Smh a wall of controllers but you somehow don't understand the Portal is a controller. Its feature is a screen allowing you to play your PS5 anywhere with good Wi-Fi. Unsubscribed!!!!
