Truth- I never liked the plastic Chaos Warriors. The fluff and the art has them as these towering monsters of armor and power, yet the models were always hunched over or scrunched up. They looked nothing like how the game made them out to be.
Thankfully these new guys rectify that. They look great. There is no denying that. Modern sculpts and a style that harkens back to a lot of the great artwork is a big plus in my book.
Everything fits together well. The cuts and pegs for the models are in some weird spots though. Be prepared to fiddle around with things if you don't want to play with glue. Also be prepared to be poked and jabbed by spikes and horns repeatedly while putting these together- the knights were the biggest culprit of this!
While still not as big and imposing as a Stormcast model, I feel these guys have a nice heft to them.
All those nice aesthetics come at a cost though. There's no real customization available, and the way the models are cut on the sprue doesn't lend themselves to easy customization. The Chaos Warriors on foot at least have a pretty generic port where their heads attach, and you can swap those around pretty easily. The knights not so much.
Weapon swaps should remain relatively easy, but outside of that you'll be in for a challenge.
I feel like for what's included you get your money's worth (relative to GW prices naturally). For a simple skirmish game you've got all you really need. It's just if you're aiming to play bigger games with Slaves to Darkness, I don't know effective it will be to buy multiples of these.
