I am going through the process of building the electrical side of my new rudder pedals from scratch - part 1 is the overview of the project.
My background as an electronics hobbyist is supplemented by a 15 year career as an electronics technician starting in the US Navy followed by a stint as a civilian contractor for the US Air Force. While I am normally focused on radar, my passion for DCS has led me to building my own peripherals in my sim pit.

Oof. Good luck with setting up those pedals. Also used to use Logitechs with spring removed. I'm using the T-rudders now, which are similar in design to what you picked up there, and it makes the world of difference for precision and comfort over those Logitechs for helo flying.

These look sturdy mechanically. I'd get a Leo Bodnar board controller for it and looks like it would be great .

The software uses freejoy, which can be configured directly

I was getting ready to buy these and then saw your video. Did u get itbprogramed and how hard was it to do. I might just get the vkb rudder pedal s. They are really like the same kind of pedal.

Looks great! I just looking around for a damper solution for my DIY pedals. I used 2 RC-Car dampers but they are to weak!

It is taking all of my willpower not to impulse-buy some of those Falcon pedals. Not sure if there's a better UK retailer than the ebay listing. My current pedals are some Gameport CH Pro pedals which I've modded to use a Teensy and which has 2 out of 3 pots still working. My plan is to design and build flight controls that complement / attach to the Ikea POANG armchair I use for sims. I have ideas about setting up nice trim systems - that would more easily fit under a chair than in a device designed to sit on a desk.

In both 2 dedicated videos, you didn't frame the interesting part even once, the one where the magnets and hall effect sensors were placed

Could you not get a new board from the manufacturer as surely it's still under warranty ?

Yes and no. The hassle of just getting what I got was prohibitive. My wife (and others) have told me to just return it. Not to be terribly insensitive to other cultures, but I don’t think that the word warrantee translates as a legal term into Chinese, especially after the tone of communication gets argumentative. I like what I have. Further experiments have revealed that the board is working, and that DCS is at fault… I will explain more in a future video. Using different boards with programming that should have worked also had similar results… I have some leads to follow and I don’t have a board that works in dcs yet, but when I do have a breakthrough it will unlock all kinds of fun options. If my current understanding is correct, sending back the board and waiting for a new one will only cause delays and end up still not working in dcs. More info soon.

Yes and no. Following a couple of leads to the original Chinese software (!!!) that it was paired with originally resulted in no result. Or at least I wasn't able to get it to work in any way. The build quality was just too good to pass on, so I bought a logitech q throttle quadrant that I am disassembling to use as the electronics for this rudder assembly. My focus the past couple of months has been getting VR working in DCS, and I have recorded some videos in VR to try and get the format right for youtube. new videos soon on vr, and hopefully a video soon on this rudder project.

I was just about to purchase these pedals for DSC ah64D ,they look solid. Don't think I will now, don't know much about Electronics I think I'm going to pass. Wish there were more reviews on these.

Good call on the pass for now. They *should* just work, and if I can I will review them… the logitech unit isn’t terrible but I don’t think that they are worth the money.

@JohnnyD I read a good review on the DCS forums so I took a chance on these, they shipped from NJ, and I had them in 5 days. I'm quite impressed with these. PNP, so smooth and solid, Very happy😃
