Funniest thing is the zombie that 'runs' from you. I think it's in the remake, but Barry shoots the zombie and 'kills' it, then when you're about to leave the dining room you suddenly hear the door open/close, and it's gone. I think this still happens even if you legit kill the zombie in the hall. So it'll come in to attack, be killed a second time, and then leave the dining room to go back to being dead dead in the hall.

KnoxCarbon The soundtrack in the directors cut is the same as the original. Youre thinking of the dualshock version which was a re-release of DC with dualshock controller support and for some unknown reason, they changed the OST. RE1 was released on the PS1 3 seperate times.

@@SHADOMEGA7569 That's not the gun on the cover. The cover was made by an artist for capcom before even the characters were desgined. The gun on the cover is not obtainable in any game or way. The gun you can unlock in the PC version are Ingram and Minimi.

But apparently it was the standard for voice acting in the nineties, Although before it was much worse: Flat text without any emotion. It would seem that instead of acting, they were just simply reading a script.

Funny enough I'm doing a Let's Play of this game, playing as Jill. I just finished an LP of RE3 and I'm going to do RE2 next on hard mode. God I love RE! I have a "Top 5 Favorite Resident Evil Games" list on my channel as well, I won't spoil to much incase anyone wants to watch it except that #1 is a tie between RE2 and RE3, so I guess technically it's my top 6 favorite RE games lol

@@Dagnar3142 and that's really the thing with 5. It does the absurd comedy horror shit 4 did, but it wants to take itself seriously. The reason it works in 4 is because the game knows how utterly dumb the stuff is and the whole universe overall also. It knows it's cheesy horror and it absolutely loves it. 5 wants to have the same scenes and absurd tropes, but because the game is being serious, well... it doesn't work.

@@shis1988 I disagree. Metal Gear had pretty silly moments and it still had an excellent story line that many take seriously. Hell, most of Suda51's games are absurdity to the max (Killer7 and No More Heroes) yet are still considered masterpieces.

At the end of the day the game is a classic and the voice acting although was silly looking at times was what they could do at the time.

No, the PS1 Resident Evil Director`s Cut was a superb game with new room designs, the intro video uncut and in colour, and new costumes. That was this shitty 1999 re-release Resident Evil Director`s Cut DUAL SHOCK EDITION, the biggest sin ever made - with more shitty music than most Gameboy titles have :D and this worst and most useless re-release had nothing the original Director`s Cut had: No new camera angles, no new costumes, no intro video in colour and not even the first iconic zombie-scene was uncut (no head rolling into the camera) this useless DC re-release was completely f*cked up and is worse than any other RE1 release ever made, and had just some useless rumble features *ggg

Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 2 Dual Shock Edition, Resident Evil 2 Dreamcast, each one overshadowing the other. 3. Resident Evil 2 on Gamecube has less features than the Dreamcast version despite coming out later. 4. Leon finds a heavily injured or potentially dead body on the street, and his first response is to eyeball it rather than call for backup or paramedics? Rookie in training, indeed. 5. Look, I know that it probably saved his life, but it doesn't change the fact that Leon practically missed his "first day on the job" for oversleeping. And that deserves a sin of itself for making cops look bad as whole, whether the reality is true or not. 6. "You're a cop, right?" How does Claire not know Leon is a police officer? You'd figure the uniform would give it away. 7. "Splitting from the group plot" chiche. (Leon and Claire separated) 8. Robert Kendo owns a fully stocked gun shop. And his weapon of choice is a crossbow... seriously? 9. Not locking a door during a zombie apocalypse. 10. The average human can only live for about a week without water. And he hid behind that counter without any nutrition for... how long? Details! They are important! 11. Sheltering in a building with breakable glass. R.I.P. Robert. You will be forgotten. 12. Okay, I know part of the reason for this is game mechanics, but it still doesn't make any sense having to enter a bus and come out the other end to reach the destination. And Darkside Chronicles only serves to empathise that by removing the bus part from the game, but keep most everything else in tact. Why not just go around the vehicles or hop over them? Certainly would have been a better option than entering a small space in which potentially puts one at considerable risk of being trapped or cornered by a zombie horde. 13. All the doors in the police station are locked, but the front door remains open!? Brilliant! 14. Opening doors, one of the most iconic moments in Resident Evil, are still fake-ass loading screens. 15. The look on Leon's face when he sees a Licker for the first time is priceless. 16. (examines Jill's desk) Jill has a boyfriend!?! How do we not know about this??? 17. Look, I know that I phrased the fact that it had 4 campaign modes. But most of them have the exact same or similar puzzles. And those that stick around long enough for the 4th campaign will be sick of them. I know I was. 18. Yes, because escaping through the sewers is the best course of action. There wouldn't be any monsters down there. 19.
