Israel video tour with David Hyman , Israeli professional tour guide. Todays video tour is to the Golan Heights. Within the harsh and rocky terrain, missing but not forgotten, hidden from eyesight, sits an ancient city with an incredible story - the Jewish city of Gamla. The battle of Gamla was one of the key conflicts during the Judean's rebellion against the Roman empire. The Jewish historian Josephus , tells us in great detail about the town and the war and the tragic fate of the defenders of Gamla. The city was completely destroyed and was never rebuilt. The location was lost in time. Not until 1968 was the site rediscoverd and identified as the lost city of Gamla.
This vide tour will walk us down the path to ancient Gamla, to the walls and towers, the Mikveh and the Synagogue and to the mountain precipice , where the defenders of the town leaped to their death in despair. We will also visit the vulture lookout and the Dolmen field and end our tour at the Gamla waterfall.

What an Amazing tour! Its a tragic story to know that they fought so hard and in the end lost.... but not really! Look who is still here and who is really gone.... The dolmens were something else! I had no idea those would be there 😲. Thanks for taking us there Shiri and David👍 Your knowledge and skill at presenting these places to us is much appreciated!

You were right, the Roman siege engines were very interesting. Thank you for filming them. Gamla is amazing. The fact that the breach in the wall is still visible is unbelievable. Thanks, again, for going where I can’t.

Liked and subscribed. Gamla was one of the most impactful sites I have ever visited. The history hangs in the air. This is a MUST SEE for anyone wishing truly understand history including that in the Bible as you can’t truly comprehend and understand without first understanding the role terrain played in civilization, migration and war.

This probably would have been a very good video, but you started off by touching the map over and over and over again. Have you not seen signs that were ruined by tourists touching them? And this was not just text. It was an expensive sign with a multi-color drawing of the area -- must have cost thousands -- and it won't be replaced right away, if ever, ust because tourists like you have ruined parts of it. Then at 3 or 3:10 you did it again at the grey 3-dimensional sculpture of the area. People, including children, see what you've done and think it's okay for them too. I'm too disgusted now to continue watching past 3:25. . maybe I will come back later. ---- And the dates should be given in CE, not AD. If you think people won't know what that means, you can gently explain it.

I appreciate your feedback and will try harder to avoid touching any signs in the future. I wonder if you too would accept my feedback? Your comments to me could be said in a more gentle and respectful way. Thanks for watching and Happy new year
