Gammer Gurton's Needle | Gammer Gurton's Needle-the Second English Comedy
This video is about the second English comedy "Gammer Gurton's Needle" which was first attributed to John Still, but it was afterwards assigned to William Stevenson. Though "Grammer Gurton's Needle" has been considered inferior to Nicholas Udall's comedy "Ralph Roister Doister", it represents English country life, especially of peasant-class. Gammer Gurton's Needle was staged in 1566 at Christ College, Cambridge. The play is modelled on Latin comedy but the matter and characterisation are purely English. In the play, we see the interlude of John Heywood.
Though this a short video like other video, it imparts important information regarding the play.
I hope you will like it, meet you soon with a new video, till then bye!
