NOTE I said cm instead of mm when talking about the barrel length. A multi shot break barrel air rifle that loads itself! I had no issues with this rifle even with mixed up different flavour pellets loaded into a magazine. In a nut shell,the loading system works well (in my testing) I wonder if other airgun maker will follow suit with their own designs? Safe shooting! - Rack.

LOL, in the mid seventies EL Gamo, as they were then, bought out the ASI Paratrooper Springer, I think it was, 6 shot repeater in .177 form. I still have my original 1977 .22 single shot ASI Paratrooper.

In the States, the gun is called the Swarm Maxxim. It has non-wood stack, non adjusting check rest, but, all of everything else. Wonderful gun!!

Your right I did replace the scope and put on a Hammers 4x16x50AO heavy duty scope the same that I have on my Diana RWS 34- you get this rifle update the scope. I ordered mine through Pyramid Air and updated the scope before it was sent out. I asked for a trade in on the packaged scope and the hammers works very well, it's rugged and I wanted a scope that can take a betting

@@davidschmidt6013 this gun is worth the money In my opinion. I have since bought a pcp air rifle. I would say they main differences are with spring/break action you can't shoot past 40 yards accurately and with pcp you can get out to 80 and beyond with the right set up

Thanks for the review. I've been waiting to see a review before buying as I wanted to know about the accuracy. Seems good. Nice to see the included scope is parallax adjusted for 25 yards. Never can understand why so many airgun scopes are set at 100 yards. With regard to your concerns over the tip of the wooden stock flexing and potential breaking risk. I agree it is a worry and I've thought this myself with other rifles I own but I have never had one break or get damaged. Have you in the past?

Last I checked it's a springer with more expensive/less recoil IGT version as an option. Just wondering how one would clean the barrel on this as it looks quite closed up from what I saw.

Keep an eye on all the small screws. They come loose frequently on mine - even with Loctite on the threads!

Try some ptfe tape wrapped round the tread you would have to trim with craft knive or something might work ive done this on other screws on high vibration applications can be a bit fiddly to do.

Interesting thanks. Couple of questions - Can you get a rod in the barrel to clean it without risking damage to the self loading mechanism? If the self load was to become faulty, is there a way to manually load a pellet? and lastly, can you actually see anything through the scope with all that plastic in front of it? From your accent I presume that this is UK spec (max 12Ft/LBs) - be interested to see how long that scope lasts before the rifle trashes it to bits. We have the international version of the gun and it is more powerful, these things trash cheap scopes in under 500 shots. (My Crosman Diamondback 22 destroyed the Centrpoint scope that came with the gun in less than 200 shots (broke the springs for elevation and windage) and then destroyed my second scope, Niko Stirling Mountmaster in less than 500 shots (Detached the eyepiece glass completely and cracked the glass too) I am now onto a Hawke Airmax 4-12 x 50 which is fairing better and has surpassed the 500 shot mark OK..touch wood!

Hi mate, this was a loan rifle that I had for a few weeks. Yes, I believe you can still clean the barrel. There is a newer version out now. Clear view through the scope...

Hi! would you rather get the 4.5 or 5.5 cal of this model? I'm seriously thinking of buying it, looks good to me and the only bad opinions i've heard on the replay were about accuracy, which of course is VERY important, that quite makes me want to get the 4.5 cal one... as a way of "compensating" bad accuracy or at least not making it even worse with a heavier pellet

I have the all black one I tuck it apart to see what powered it’s it’s the igt mate there are a good rifle after u have beded it in. Iv put 1000 pellets through mine not one problem with it mine works spot on with a Hawke 3-9x40 ao scope

I have this rifle in .22. The supplied telescopic sight broke within a couple of months, the auto feed mechanism went wrong last time out and as you can see from the targets the gun isnt accurate/ consistant enough to use for small game. Wish Id bought something else instead of falling for the gimicks.

If the reload mechanism breaks, you can pull it off and shoot the gun as a normal springer ? Too many plastic parts, seems fragile to me. Let´s wait for some owner´s report about bugs and issues. Cheers

Love your video but it does have the power to take out rabbit's, in the Us we don;t have the power restriction so I took it out with me and tested it against my Daina 34 and it nailed a 2 jack rabbit at 28 yards no problem. It has the power and multi-shot does make me prefer it more then my RWS but not by much. You know power vs speed. If your hunting wood pigeons and squrrils then I'll take both guns with me , both slinged of course.

i love the idea but i wonder why they made the magazine so bulky and sitting on top of the gun which looks like it partially obscures the scope ? i wonder why they didn't make it so the magazine sits flush into the gun like on the Theoben SLR98 ? also i think on a multishot break barrell or under lever rifle the cocking mechanism needs to be as quiet as possible but having said all that this gun is great for £279

I have had mine for 2 weeks now and I can assure you on any magnification it does not obscure the scope. It's just the included scope isn't a great one but good for the price.

there are actually two versions of the gun, one is the swarm maxxim that comes with a 3-9x40scope witch is what you have, that IS igt. i believe those are available for usa etc. there is a version for europe that is slightly downgraded to pass european legislation called the replay maxxim that comes with a 4x40scope that is a spring gun. you probably got an early production gun when they were sorting them out. from what research i've done the swarm is a very good gun, the springer not so much sadly... sucks to be european but.. oh well edit for typing fails

I got to correct you here. The European one, while it IS called the Replay instead of Swarm, is also IGT ... AND ... comes with a 3-9x40 scope if you go for the "Elite". There's no black version in this AFAIK - it's only available in this wood colour.

glockerbob I have the .177 accuracy is really good with JSB Exact Express 7.9 grn pellets. Power is very good chronoed at 11.8 ! It's definitely gas ram and I've had no problems at all with the loading mechanism.

Great review thanks. Only comment I would make (as a master craftsman woodworker!) is that at 15:09 you doubt the strength of the wood. I think it looks flimsier than it is. Assuming it is real wood (beech?) It is long grain and shouldn't snap unless excessively stressed.

Great review from RACKNLOAD as always! However it is a Gamo. After a few rounds the barrel will become loose and you cant fix it no matter what. Shims dont do anything. The barrel pivot screw is useless. The barrel block is plastic. The barrel lock is also plastic and unreliable. Dont waste your money on Gamos. They are cheap, they have impressive look, they are smooth to operate but they have expiration date. The older Gamos is different story (better quality). If you want a spanish made rifle try norica or cometa. Norica is of better quality, but a little bit tricky to disasseble. I do own Gamo Norica and Cometa airguns and what i'm saying is based on my experience. Sorry for my bad english, i'm Greek.

These come up in New Zealand most are sold nearly new indicating they are problematic. They still haven't cracked the multi shot.

Go back a bit further in time and you will find more break barrel multi shot Airguns ie ASI paratrooper, etc.

Micro full of wind rustle and nearby pellet trap make it difficult to estimate degree of noise ! What a pity for this test....Just like many, it has that flimsy fore end tip which is a real spoiler even with synthetic stocks.

Gamo replay 10 maxxim doesnt have IGT, i ordered one because after reading gamo catalog i though rifle had IGT, that rifle was same as swarm, which they have used in all their marketing and reviews are made with it. Theres nothing else good about it besides that magazine. Accuracy is poor, i dont understand why they put spring rather than IGT, and it costs much more than swarm. Last gamo for me, i really feel i was scammed.

i think it is not accurate..because if you break the barrel,there's a tendency not to go back accurately even if there is a lock mechanism..the barrel is very important to a rifle..

you know that's actually pretty sad for them to come out with a gun like this that loads the way it does and no accuracy terrible accuracy I cannot believe that they cannot get that gun to shoot any better than that not impressed at all

The so claimed 'recoil reducing rail' on these is a complete con. Both the smaller section back piece and the longer section front piece are secured tightly to the barrel, therefore there is zero movement to enable the recoil compensator to even work.
