The good thing about break barrels is that they make you work for every bit of accuracy. My opinon is that they can produce better shooters. Pcp's can easily spoil you. Lack of recoil.

i found that with the built in silencer(if you will) is what created alot of my problems, i pulled the baffels out(red plastic thing inside of shroud) and ureka, very consistant with any pellet. But still loves them baracuda hunters though, good review sir, keep up the good work sir.

Problems with the scope consistently staying on is like mounting a scope on a crossbow. You have so much force going forward it causes torque. I'm shopping now and think I will settle on the Magnum or the Maxxum.

I'm a bit surprised that someone goes thru all the trouble that you go thru to zero a gun but you never check the scope rings to see if they line up. If one is slightly higher than the other, you have a problem. There's a complete kit available that will line up and lap in bad mounts. It can be used on all scope mounts. Well worth the time.

I don't consider almost 300 dollars cheap, I have one and it's the most expensive air gun I've ever owned. I haven't had the chance to shoot it yet but for that price it better be damn good. I paid less for my 10/22.

Its so light that i have to only use hn baracuda hunter 177 and hold at balance point and squeeze the trigger super super slow and then im hole in hoke at 25 yards... Anything else or any other pellets and its all over the place....cost more in pellets than the rifle and scope did... But a benjamin np xl 1500 can group hole in hole with allot more pellets.....but its a gas ram and allot heavier.... I wish i could get another gamo but it took me years to get it right

I personally think this gun is not the most accurate but still, it's a nice friendly backyard gun. Had to do a little modification and change scope rails to picatinny and scope out (which I think is not necessary but wanted a different scope). Now shooting H&N terminator .22 pellets and seem to be the most accurate out of all the others I've tried and gamo red seems to do ok too. Was really frustrating at first but now getting use to it. I did shoot five in the same hole at around 30yd with the terminator on a calm no wind day and just called it good. Could be luck though. With wind it can change a little but still, from my experience terminator seems to beat them all in the best grouping. Terminator doesn't get a lot of reviews but I think they're a great pellet to try and use. Expensive to shoot for fun but great for hunting.

Just ordered myself this airgun the other day. I've shot with it on three different occasions. And I absolutely love it. A friend has a Benjamin Summit ... and it is dead on accurate, light and fun to shoot ... and the original cheapie scope that it comes with works surprisingly great. Since they no longer make that model ... I went thru about 3 different models (usually buying two guns of the same model each time to make sure if one didn't work ... i could try the same brand again and see if it was a random defect or it was the model itself ... not a scientific study but better then nothing). Anyway ... each rifle I tried ... was horrible ... couldn't site it in for the life of me. My friend kept switching out the scope with one of his really good scopes and they still would not shoot consistently. Then I ordered two of these Swarm Fusion GEN2's in the .177 version. After watching a bunch of youtube vids and taking some of their advice ... mainly ... the cheap crossman hollow point pellets seem to work consistently well ... I started with those pellets and immediately was shooting groups within an inch from 20 yards out. Now it did take a good amount of shots to get the site dialed in to center. And the first shot was LOUD ... but within 10 shots it was easily under 75/80db. I've shot at least 100 - 150 pellets and I am really dialed in at this point. In fact the last session I did a few speed rounds where I cocked the barrel as quick as possible and set the gun on the bags ... lined up quick and shot ... I was shooting at 1 - 2 inch metal targets ... and I hit 8 of 10 each time. I also did a bunch of standing shots using only my arm's and body for support ... it was way harder ... but I was still able to get groupings of 3 or 4 inches from 20 yards out. And let it be known ... I am very new to shooting (used to do a lot of archery ... so I understand muscle/bone alignment for better support and "the art of breathing") ... but for being new to air rifle shooting ... I am very happy so far with the results. I too ... as this video mentions ... seem to get an occasional 1 out of every 10 or so shots that just fly off into nowhere land ... but everything else is great. I still think the Benjamin Summit feels more comfortable to me ... might be the stock length (even though both are close) ... or the distance of the scope. But the GEN2 is easy to like. I've heard bad things about multi pellet systems ... jamming issues ... so I was skeptical ... but so far no issues (fingers crossed). I have not yet messed with the trigger adjustments but I plan on it soon. The first stage is very long ... the second stage is kind of long and a bit heavier then I would like (although it's WAY lighter then the other air rifles I've tested). It's even lighter than the Benjamin Summit that I love and that has a really nice trigger. Anyway ... hope this helps someone ... cuz I did a lot of research and wish there was more info on this one. But I'm glad I took the plunge.

Thanks for sharing yet another quality video! I appreciate not just the test, but the other insights and the lessons I often learn from your videos. Regarding the "recoil reducing rail" on which the scope is mounted, what are your thoughts on its effectiveness? I know that many ordinary (non air gun) scopes have met their demise due to the reverse recoil of spring or piston air rifles, and just curious if this rail does indeed work. I have a couple of older but very good non-air gun scopes that I would like to use instead of the scope that came with the rifle, but I'm hesitant because I don't want to ruin a perfectly good scope. I realize it would be prudent to buy a use-specific air gun scope, but I already have these others and it makes sense to use what I have (unless, of course, they can or will get ruined in the use). Whatever insight(s) you can provide would be extremely helpful! Thanks again for your video!

Hey there.. the RRR works well with airgun scopes. I would not trust any scope that was not designed to handle the reverse recoil of a spring or gas ram airgun. If you have a PCP or CO2 gun, then you are good to go. The issue is that these guns are really hard on scopes that are specifically built for them. So the RRR helps further. Hope that helps. Cheers AGW
@richarde1355
@richarde1355 3 года назад
@@AirGunWeb Thanks! I know typical airguns are tough on not-airgun specific scopes, but I was hoping that with the RRR, even if it cut down the felt recoil to the scope even for 80% (which is a lot) and not the number claimed by Gamo, that standard scopes would work without failing. I have some non-airgun scopes sitting around unused,...but, if there is a real possibility of ruining them, I won’t try them.

Thanks for this review, it was a sanity check for me. So why is the Gen II so much harder to use than the Swarm Maxim? I have had my Gen II about a month, shot over 2500 pellets through it so far. Had the same good results H&N Field Target (over 1000 rounds) and no others. It seems very hold sensitive. I don't understand the Recoil Reduction Rail system. Mine locks in place towards the back and not move. That would cause different results. Loosening the screws to rail slightly to allow it to float gave consistent results but a pain to maintain. Other bolts on the gun would have to be checked and retightened regularly like every 100-200 shots. These loose bolts would cause changes to the expected groupings, I think the GEN II was a poor choice for my first air rifle although I am working through the learning curve.

Thanks for the facts not fluff review. I had a Swarm Maxxim as my first pcp and went through all of the frustrating steps trying to find some consistancy. I was comparing my results with RU-vid Break barrel & PCP videos. After buying over $1000 in different pellets, changing scopes, & changing to military hold I eventually sold the airgun and moved into the PCP world. That was back in 2017. I am now a pretty darn good shot with my PCP's but I wish I would have seen this video back then. It would have increased my process a decreased my expectations for break barrels. I miss my little Swarm Maxxim :) Can You tell me The difference between the Various swarm airguns?

I have been breaking it in using Crosman destroyers and have shoot around 175 flawlessly!

I've got kinda of a big question.not sure if you guys have time to respond to this...ok..I'm new to airgunning and I've acquired about 12 guns over the bast couple months..I understand theres quite a few variables when it comes to finding what each gun needs to reach its potential..theres scope,pellet, hold..to make this process a little easier is there somewhere specific to start..say the pellets all over the place on a brand knew rifle..do I start with scope,hold and then pellet ..it seems you could be jumping all over the place and trying different things with no results..I guess what I'm asking is there a specific order you do things to diagnose the problem?..a specific problem I'm have on one rifle is I'll adjust my scope to the most recent shot to zero in but I'll shoot again and the pellet lands right were I just moved it from..it goes back and forth..I've blue thread locked all my screws so I've eliminated things coming loose...any advise on this issue that's driving me crazy..

I have the swarm magnum and mine is dead on at 100 yards. 3/4" groups are the norm for me with this gun. The stock is identical and the fusion has nowhere near the recoil the magnum has. Infact the magnum has the most recoil of any .22 break barrel rifle being that it is the most powerful. The fusion should be a breeze to shoot...

Where are you hitting it? I’ve dropped rabbits, jackrabbits, squirrels all with one shot. I’m shooting .22. What are you shooting? Cheers AGW

These cheap guns are garbage. You shouldn't have to work that hard for a gun to shoot well. Also, 20 yards is no benchmark , maybe for a air pistol.

Why anyone would buy a gun that the reviewer has to try 20 different pellets to find one that works and then in a particular head size is beyond me... Usually the tester makes the guns look good,,,, Couldn’t have made this gun any worse
