Hi, USC Developer here, I also received this controller for review and some dev support and I just want to mention that USC will support the lighting mode mentioned at 8:22 in the future. This means that the game will be able to do things such as syncing the lights to the music and flashing the button lights with patters or anything else in menus and such. Great review btw 👍
hey! Thank you for making USC, great work! I should really get to making a video teaching people to play it with a keyboard. I hope you liked the controller as much as I did!
i have never seen a review of a sdvx controller nor was i interested before.. but looking at this controller makes me imagine how far they've improved and the fact that it's both cheaper and lighter.. and *durable* makes me wanna own one
The timing of this video couldn't have been better. I've been wanting an SDVX controller for a very long time, but couldn't because I didn't have a job, but the price was absolutely insane. At the time this video was uploaded, I have a job and had the ability to buy one. These controllers are HELLA CHEAP compared to the others! I bought one as soon as I got my paycheck. Thank you for the review!
This is the first video of yours' I've watched, and I've subscribed. Love the energy you bring. I'm not a rhythm gamer, but I am a amateur human interface device nerd. Anyway, loved the video
@@testhekid ONLY with omron switch, if you don't want to use Chinese button you need to order Sanwa button which costs you $99 additionally, The final price should be $29x but still cheaper than other controllers
I’ve been waiting for this review! From what I gather this is an incredible controller, the function and price are incredible for an sdvx controller! Good job tokaku!
I found a new secret key combination with the new faucetwo controller to go back into the rainbow mode but better. The new rainbow is fixes the weird scrolling when the knobs don't turn and high sensitivity on default knobs. The combination is: Start + BT-B + BT-C + FX-L + FX-R.
So glad how honest this review is, most people I feel would say the more expensive is better, but you are truthful and say they feel the same, or even that the cheaper one is better.
When I got my faucetwo yesterday, I found that the knobs now come with 4 dampeners out of the box, I still think they have the render of the knobs with 3 dampeners on the website, and I couldn't say how long they've been doing this, but they seem to come with 4 dampeners now. Great controller, by the way.
Just ordered one. I'm new to Sound Voltex and have only played a handful of times at Round 1, but I enjoy it even more than DDR/ITG which has always been my go-to. I guess previous rhythm game experience carried over since I can already do 10's, but I tried a 13 and got destroyed. Haven't tried any 11's or 12's yet. The song you did in this video looks not humanly possible to my eyes lol.
@@squoosh8285 Thanks. You're right, I actually did get better. I can do some 15's now. What a difference 4 months can make. Although the song tokaku played still looks impossible lol. Yeah I'm the same, I mostly only play songs I think sound good. This controller works great by the way, in case you're considering it.
Just to add to the remark about the Omron switches; While cabinets in Japan do indeed use Omron switches, they use ones which are different from the ones Gamo2 offers with the controller. The cabinets use an integrated switch/lamp holder with a special Omron switch, which is not recommended for controller use as it would be incompatible by default, and they are not friendly for maintenance. As such, the Omron switches offered by Gamo2 are definitely the recommended option, but just note that these offerings aren't used in Japanese cabinets.
This controller is actually sick, everything about it is very well put together, and the LED lighting automatically makes you a professional rhythm gamer.
Randomly came across this while looking at Sound Voltex stuff. Now it seems like I need to get one of these because this looks so darn fun. Expensive but I am a big rhythm game fan so it's going to be great to find a new game to get into. Last one I seriously loved and have played for over 10 years has been DJ Max. Thanks for the video.
I put empty medium-large sized yoghurt cups (properly washed out and clean of course lol) over the whole knobs mechanism from the inside and then filled the rest with cushion, works perfectly!
A minor correction: the usb-c cable is not required for the controller to function. The controller is fully usable with only the usb-b cable connected. Moreover, you can plug the usb-a end of the usb-c cable into an a phone charger or power bank (providing at least 1A current), which i prefer.
Is the cord splitting considered bad among other options? Or is 12ms still consider fine? This is an awesome review and sold the product for sure. Hope you do more rhythm controller reviews!
I just spent the day at the arcade. I still blame you for my addiction to sdvx lol the ISTMALL con is absolutely great! I really want to try a Gamo2 or Yuancon
I am probably thinking about getting this soon, Im probably gonna get a nice graduation gift ofmoney this year so yeah it might go to that controller, and ill probably get omron switches too.
‘These things are mostly indestructible’ I guess the only way of breaking them is through very long use, and definitely not smashing them with hammers, definitely not
So I was wondering if you had any recommendations for anyone getting into Sound Voltex? I just discovered the game and didn't (and still don't) really know what I was getting into. I'm using the unnamed clone at the moment, and my keyboard (using a Dygma Raise) is actually kinda convenient to play the game with, but I'm wondering what I should do if and when I decide to spend money on a controller. So I have two questions: 1. Which software would you recommend to play/practice SDVX on (especially since there's not an arcade within a 3 hour drive that has a cabinet) at home? and 2. Which controller would you recommend someone new to the game use?
Okay, that's a really late answer but K-Shoot Mania and USC are pretty similar and the one you use depends on preference (I personally use USC because of better skinning options and the fact that it's smoother and more stable than K-Shoot) or you could subscribe to Konami's e-amusement cloud and install an official release of SDVX on your pc (I think it's around 10 euros a month). And for the controller, as tokaku said, the Faucetwo is really really good for its price. I've been using it for months now and I have yet to have a problem with it. I know that Yuancon's controller is pretty good too (though you'd have to change the knob as they are pretty bad afaik) and might be cheaper depending on shipping price
Hey! I want to buy this controller but I'm unsure what a good weight for the springs would be. What did you pick/do you have any recommendations? Thanks!
It's a lvl 19 and the levels only go up to 20 so yes it's very hard. 19 is basically the highest reasonable difficulty and most lvl 20s are just really unique and crazy
