In part 11 of the Ganbare Goemon 4 we finally reach the final battle against Seppukumaru. He does not put up too much of a fight, then we see the end credits.
7:37 I cried when Impact was ready to sacrifice himself and teardrop with Goemon and allies.😢 8:34 And I laughed again when Seppukumaru was told Seppuku is not a sport. 🤣
Looking back at Ganbare Goemon 4, I forgot how insane Seppukumaru is. Seppukumaru is a extreme sports fanatic that does many many sports across the galaxy, but he believes there is ONE "Sport" that he hasn't done yet, and that is Seppuku. His Seppuku Challenge involves using a Giant satellite (Looks like a freaking Death star than a satellite if you ask me. lol) Throws it at the planet to destroy it, and all you got to do is to catch it. Seppukumaru is so strong that not only he could lift up a death star with one arm, but Goemon and friends need GOEMON IMPACT to beat him. Most villains of this series would be fought face to face, or it's Giant Mecha vs. Giant Mecha... Not in this case with ol' Seppukumaru. He is so crazy, that even his own henchmen, The Four Tsujigiri asked for YOUR help to stop him. They also mentioned that this crazy bastard put a bomb in his body, a bomb that is so powerful it can nuke a planet. So if he attempts to use Seppuku upon losing the challenge, the bomb will set off and blow up Impact's home planet! So Impact knows that he's far too dangerous to let get away, so Impact attempts to sacrifice himself by taking him and Seppukumaru towards the sun. But Impact opened his big mouth and said: "Seppuku is not a sport." Which is his berserk button. He broke free from Impact's grasp, and punched him straight back to Planet Impact. LOL
In the comic version: 1. Catch and throw the satellite is one of the ultimate sport as Seppukumaru defined. 2. When Seppukumaru tried to throw the 3rd time, it was stopped by Impact. Impact used Impact Kick on the satellite, Seppukumaru could not bear the additional weight, caused his space ship exploded. 3. The body bomb was described when Seppukumaru put a knife on his belly. It had an activation button like Android 17 and 18. 4. Goemon and allies were still on board when Impact was taking Seppukumaru to the Sun. It was Yae to tell Seppukumaru that Seppuku is not a sport.
Ah, yes. The credits sequence that I loved so much, I actually made it my video credits roll. This was back on 2006 or so, mind - which, on technology terms, is quite a long time ago! Thank you for playing this in English, Tresonane. This was one big nostalgia trip for me~
Wait a minute. This fight reminds me a lot Japan Break Industries flash game that came out around the mid 2000s, where you have to catch an incoming wrecking ball, then throw it back with great force to demolish a building, repeating until you don't catch it or the building is destroyed.
Joji Yanami’s voice (North Kaioh in Dragon Ball Z) can be only heard at the game over screen. Also, Shinichiro Ota also voiced as Seppukumaru, shopkeepers in Fubi City; Junko Hori as Nyanko and Ayako Ono as Rokudenashi. With the huge number of using the sound chips, this game cassette contains the capacity of 24 Megabits. (x1.5 from #2 and #3, x3 from #1)
Heh honestly? The villains here are ridiculous but so gnarly at the same time. Heh kind of a shame the Goemon series didn't catch on in the west. I honestly still think they were better villains when it comes gnarly platformers though Specter from Ape escape is a fun villain as well.
Seppukumaru and the four Tsujigiri reappeared at the 23-episode animation in 1997. Later, Ecororisai the recycling master recycled Seppukumaru as a sub-boss in Oedo Daikaiten.(PS, 2001)
I really hate this fight, and more because is a harder version of Junkie. I would have preferred a different minigame kind battle instead, like a volleyball kind fight in space with that thing, but with the difference that when the giant metallical ball falls in one of the sides and is not taken down, it blows and damages Impact or Seppukumaru's ship
Not sure, but having a flat control you lay on a desk while mashing helps I think. There's also a brief few frames after Impact throws the Death Star that you can continue to mash.
@@Tresonance I finally made it to this boss. And... I can't do it. I tried your strategy but I lack both the coordination and finger strength for this fight. Are there any other strategies? What the hell were Konami thinking when they designed this game?
