I don't really get the but about the horse. Isn't that just the normal way to send a horse away? It's almost cliche, except it's correct. A good horse is trained to stay with the rider and not wander or run. If you want it to go away from you, you give it a slap and startle it so it runs. Orherwise it will probably try to follow you. Not that that's something you often do with valuable horses, which are not as easy to obtain as films seem to think they are. There is a reason horse theives used to be hung, because they represented a substantial investment, something like a tractor or truck today. People brag about their $100,000 cars like they were rich, but that's relatively cheap for a tractor or heavy truck, or any serious farm or construction equipment. And a horse was the pinnacle of ambition for most common people though most of history. Although oxen were more useful and lower maintenance, less vulnerable. A horse was like buying a luxury car, only for the more successful who could afford it. And also more likely to be stolen or break down, but faster and more stylish for when you wanted transportation. The oxen would pull your wagon to town, but quite slowly and not in style. But they could also plow a field and pull out stumps and stones that most horses can't handle. So they were like pickup trucks compared to BMWs. But both were more expensive relative to income than the cars are today. And you couldn't easily get financing, and if you did the usury would be absolutely shocking by modern standards. Like 100% interest wasn't unusual. But in the films they always just come up with a horse somewhere, it's always a good horse, never a broken down nag or problem horse, and they just abandon them with equal ease. At least Tolkien made their getting the pony a plausible thing. It was quite expensive, and in poor shape when they got him, and he made their releasing him into a little subplot that was resolved. Guy always got it right, somehow.

I love how he broke character doing the Legolas joke and then just added in as part of the show. Although that was the first time i wondered if he actually writes these scripts himself or if he has help. Unusual for jokes to keep their humor after you know the punchline and expect it. And the writing and impressions keep distracting me from the actually brilliant acting and characterization. Making your voice sound like someone else is a talent, but actually _acting_ like that person, their expressions, their personalities, that's difficult stuff. I'm surprised he's not a professional actor in some capacity. He obviously has the ability, well above average.

So they just tricked Aragorn and yanked his feet out from under him? To teach him a lesson? And what if he landed slightly different and snapped his neck or spine instead? "Oh sorry about that mate, it was just a joke"? I might as well say i haven't watched the second two films since i obviously barely remember any of the stuff i see. I did used to smoke a lot of weed and drink a lot, and it was like 20 years ago now.

He has a fair point about the Gollum eyes. In the book he just says he suddenly seemed like a mean and dangerous, grasping little creature and his demeanour changed. It was just a difference in how Frodo perceived him and his behavior, not that he actually altered form in any meaningful way. But that's hard to portray on film, and you need to make it clear to the dumber viewers what's happening. That cant just think Bilbo suddenly had a flare up of his bad temper or something. And it can easily be argued that what's seen on screen isn't what actually happened, but represents what it _seemed_ like to Frodo.

Why can't you do Gimli or Tom Bombadil? I just noticed that neither of those have the AI faces like the rest.

Too bad Gandalf doesn't have the magical ability to create a safe bubble or something, that would be really useful in the mountains. Oh, wait...
