First heard on Bobbito and Stretch Armstrong show. I had it taped. Somebody stupid azz threw out aaaaaaaaaaall my 300-400 tapes😂. I’m so glad I heard this. One of there best tracks ever
Not heard before. Presuming it’s a demo as just a loop and Guru chorus rather than Premo traditional scratched in chorus. Better than the released version imho 🔥
Yoooooo Preeeeemoooo. . . You and GURU basically perfectef the GANGSTARR persona on this joint. I'm not saying it's y'all's bestest joint BUT it is the most representative of how y'all carry yourselves, on the block , in the club, in the studio, on tour or whatever Sophisticated, smoove respectable unfuckwithable diplomatic while taking no shit and no shorts. . Miss the shit out of GURU as a MC , and a trendsetter, but even more as a gatekeeper . Lot less new cats would have snuck in if he was still here Facts
i had this version on the demo for the "Hard To EarN" lp i dont know y they took it off n replaced it with "Suckers Need Body Guards" nice to find it again here .
Wrong version though. This is the original with the uncleared Ohio Players' sample. The Japan version had original synthesizer music by Premier. Probably temp music or a demo version.
what you talking about?? why? because he did some aguilera shit? a musician can do alot. i tell you what happened to preemo. sampling became more and more of a problem and he stopped working with eddie sancho
Jom James there is an interview with a Gang Starr member can’t remember his name tho, but he said one of the reasons why they broke up was because he was making music for porn This has not been confirmed as truth though so who knows... Anyway preem is still a beast and has never fell off! 100% legend
It was actually during the Hard To Earn sessions. They couldn’t clear the sample, so they ended up pressing the demo up as a white label years later around the time Moment of Truth was out.
So is it this one or the other version on the Japanese press? I'm asking cause this version is way better & I'm better off just buying an Og copy if it's the other one
this one. the one at the Japanese press is another one. This was never released due to sample clearance issues. (James Diamond Williams - Ohio Players)
