REMASTERED IN HD! Music video by Gang Starr performing Skills (DVD Edited). #GangStarr #Skills #Remastered #Vevo #HipHop #VevoOfficial #OfficialMusicVideo
To artists, this may no necessarily be a flex. It means they make the same stuff all the time to the point where people hear it over and over with nothing new. Art folk say it to each other as a backhanded compliment.
@@elephantgrass631 I disagree. Preemos beat just really emphasises the lyrics and makes the song just better. Everyone of his beats is unique but he is still recognisable.
Yeah, I think Gangstar got and gets a ton of attention as one of the greatest duos. The only thing I'd say is underrated is that they're not in more Top 5 convos.
nah an example of cats that were slept on is BINARY STAR. GANG STARR were not slept on. Mad reputation. Preemo shares my top spot with RZA and Prince Paul for production
Incorrect. I see Guru listed by many people as a great rapper. Also look how many views his videos have. Your statement is incorrect. My guess for the most underrated would be K-Rino. He's been around since early 80s has the most albums in hip hop history, stil drops albums to this day, he's a pioneer, an innovator, master lyricist, versatile, has the strongest work ethic of any rapper PERIOD, longevity, he's a master of punchlines, metaphors, story telling, knowledge, concepts and content and yet hardly anyone knows who he is, if you think Guru is more underrated than K-Rino I suggest gaining some knowledge before making statements as such. Find me a rapper even gets close to the same criteria who is as unknown as K-Rino. You won't find one.
Had this crazy dream where I was on the escalator coming up from the subway, in front of me was Guru and 4-5 of his crew, including a kid like 10 years old. Guru’s telling a story, but fully rhyming and flowing. Not performing or freestyling, just like that’s how he always talks in regular conversation. And it is DOPE. Tap the kid on the shoulder and I ask him - “ay yo is he always like this?” Kid just nods.
Technically DJ Premier bought him back to life and just dropped an album with Guru... meaning it has some of Guru's voice rappin.... some stuff that he bought from the vault .
prazertv you know how people look back at old tunes i think wtf why everyone like that shit this stuff dont get old shows its a classic and worth its weight these new poser fake fuckin actors will be laughed at in the future dont worry time cleans peoples souls
+Julio Sanchez Fucking bullshit! Only hip-hop heads know gangstarr. Most people have no idea of them. Unless you're kicking it with the right people you're full of shit
Cats don't know because the mass media outlets don't want this type of positive stuff to seep into the minds of those they've already corrupted with bullshit so called music. The industry doesn't care about rhetoric anymore just a quick buck.
@@radzo1675 Ask the Adults. Who were into Hip-Hop during Guru's Era. They know him very well, he wasn't underrated at all. He was the most well-known rapper of East Coast during his time.
Is it okay to actually miss MC Guru? Like to be actually saddened by his passing 7 years ago? It's not even just his amazing music that he put out, but his messages. He taught, expanded, and enhanced the minds that listened to his songs. RIP MC Guru
I feel like an old asshole who grumbles to the younger generation that in our time everything was different, the grass was greener, etc. , but it is undeniable that real rap is dead, it no longer exists, and in order to enjoy the masterpieces of rap music we have to go back to the past.
True, but you know why? Because hip hop in the 90's was superb! He wasn't alone, Souls of Mischief were underrated too. That was the golden age , we'll not see that repeat sadly
Yo Major Shout to Guru👑 for Rep'n the 4 Elements of Hip-hop!! (Mc,DJ,B-boys & Graffitti!) A True RAP LEGEND Gone to soon! Rip Guru🙏🏾🕊️🙏🏾🕊️ gone but not forgotten!!
Have to thank my brother for this one. When I was a kid, I would steal this CD, and wu-tang's Forever and 36 chambers. Stuff that brings back good times.

This is the first international hip hop song i listened on my own, not tv or radio. It was back in 2006 on my cousin's crappy mp3 and even though i didn't understand a single word(as i was just a kid from Romania and my english level was 0 at that time),boy did i fell in love with Ganstarr. It's been 16 years and i still listen to it a lot, plus, this is my ringtone! #ripguru
Hip-hops golden era is the epitome of the phrase “what a time to be alive”. You wouldn’t understand if you didn’t live through it, you REALLY had to be there. Long live Guru, a supreme emcee. I heard “mass appeal” on rap city in the early 90s and never stopped listening to him lol💯🙏🏾
I remember the summer this came out. It was the only good album release of the summer (that i remember). We were bumping it non stop. Our whole crew went to see Gangstarr at the Guvernment / KoolHaus in Toronto. Great show and good times with good friends.
