The witches were trying to summon Lamaashtu. The one who swallows the sun. But during the eclipse, while the little girl was surrounded by tentacles in the ritual circle, the light bringer mauled the ritual and we see the tentacles disappeared. So Lucia took the crown. And the big servant secretly helped Lucia by gifting her bandage but I don't know why
