Gangsta Boo: Lord Infamous Created "Migos Flow"

www.vladtv.com - Gangsta Boo sat down with VladTV and shared her thought on 2 Chainz saying Migos' flow originated with Three 6 Mafia in Memphis, Tennessee, a statement that Migos challenged and called out 2 Chainz for making. Boo reveals that not only is 2 Chainz correct, but that she was around when the "triple flow" originated with the late Lord Infamous, Skinny Pimp and other Memphis based rappers. She also claims that with the exception of Outkast and Goodie Mob, Memphis heavily influenced Atlanta's sound when the South was still coming up in Hip Hop.
That being said, she says she likes Migos, and respects that they're working their lane as they should. She simply feels young Hip-Hop fans don't always know their history and that's likely what the situation is here.
Check out Gangsta Boo above.

It's sad that 3-6 don't really get the credit they deserve. Today's rap sound is undeniably influenced by them.

***** not even close. Scarecrow's style was Southern and Satanic mixed with barbarism and savagery. From what I've listened of MF (not really my cup of tea) he's more old school east coast and political at times. I guess me being from Texas (the south) I'm a little biased as to the shit i jam to. The only rapper that came close to Lord's style would have to be T-Rock, but MF is in a separate spectrum of this rap game bro.

Technically you're all wrong.Paul n Juicy were djing and whatever since the late 80s.Maybe paul and Lord were rapping then.Paul and Lord had Da Serial Killaz in 91.Maybe 92 or 93 came the Backyard Posse that ended up becoming Triple Six Mafia,later officially shortened to Three Six,and they dropped their first studio album in 95.

Fact is, every generation thinks they are being new and innovative when its just a copy of the past - because everything that happened yesterday influences today whether you like it or not. The only way you notice it is when you get older and you start hearing the same things you grew up with from the new kids who swear they made it up...

Even if Migos claim they didnt grow up/listen to 3-6 mafia, they were influenced by rappers who did. Which proves her point how Memphis influenced Atlanta rappers. So they may not know who Lord Infamous is but the rapper or rappers whose style influenced surely did. Just go listen to his raps. Gangsta Boo is money with this one.

watkins brown that still wouldn't be a fair comparison. i mean if some kid didn't know who three six was i would probably be like WTF?! but then again i live in ny and when was there last hit? i gotta stay fly? also depends on age. they are more southern icons that universal hiphop ones like jayz or eminem. now if your from memphis and didnt know them. then yes that probably would be like not knowing who marvin gaye is.

Both are a1. Just 2 different styles and ways of tellin a similar story. Both captured the vibe of their city perfect for the time. Wu reminds me of bein young and wild in the streets and Three 6 reminds me of when were goin to damn hard in Memphis and Florida. But everywhere I go real ones bump em both.

My favorite rap group of all time is Three 6 Mafia, but I think there are only so many different ways to make a delivery that's eventually going to sound similar to someone else's. It doesn't necessarily mean that someone just decided to literally steal someone else's delivery, even though some do. The only thing now that can differentiate two artists is their voice itself and their actual lyrics. It has to be a little difficult to say who started this certain style of rap, but they were all out around the same time underground or mainstream. When I think of how the Migos rap I don't think of Lord. To me they have two totally different styles and deliveries. Now when folks say they started that style then yeah we got a problem.

A l ot of artists stole shit from Memphis or just the south in general. But them ATL nunu bois get all the credit for it because thats the " Black Hollywood" so they say. Bottom line, if you are going to steal somebody style, just give credit. Nothing is new under the sun though!

Memphis is the Orgin of the "migos flow" they stupid as fuck for not claimin they jacked three 6... Bone Thugs jacked three 6... Migos Jacked Three 6... Took bone years to drop beef and finally jumped on a track with Paul and it was dope "murder on my mind" migos will admit it one day

Trip 6 did it before bone... bone jacked the flow.. dont matter how you spin it or when you listened to em.. nothins changing that fact.

Triple D Exactly, I don't think they straight up copied it though, it's just triplet rapping. Rap was still new in 89 and even 95 and no one really rapped in triplets until Lord Infamous. If he hadn't someone else would have done it eventually so it's no surprise. Can't claim a triplet; no one claims 16th or 8th note rapping.
@GoatDust
@GoatDust 6 лет назад
Triple D you can't claim triplets. You can be the first to use them but that doesn't entitle you to exclusivity. Triplets are used in all other genres of music practically and no other genre accuses people of stealing rhythms because you really can't. It's much too basic.
