Idk how Akshan used to be a Sett counter, I've played it once, back when mythics existed, and I was unable to position myself in a way that I could attack him and not be in a position to just get E'd by him. He was always able to just Q for sprint and E me. Sure I'm not Drututt but it felt like a horrible matchup, and it's probably even worse now. 8:40 yep, this would happen every time.
Only way to win the matchup consistently, and actually get trades in early is always go ghost & celerity (highly underrated for space based matchups). That early extra MS is huge and scorch for extra bully. I always rush swifites against Darius and Sett matchup since they follow super similar fight patterns (walk to e engage & tabi rush if are losing against akshan). You can single auto passive and instantly walk back for you to be slightly always out of cast range. Then they are anim locked for a quick q double auto. Also for 8:40 I have to match ghost with Sett or Darius unplayable, you just mash ghost when they do and its 2 idiots running a straight line. After first blood and or full wave crash, then perma freeze poke and make him reconsider his life. Played this matchup way too much playing in lowbob with friends, too pissed losing to bronze sett 2 iq combo.
@@Ecliptor. It's just from a lot of play and I theory craft a ton for hard matchups. I don't expect you or anyone to chovy space something that took me a while to figure out alone. The room for error is high, aka the jungler but if you learn how to bully on animation locks (ie sett autos minions, sett misses e you) you will win lane every game. Though I think smolder top does better into Sett and any bruiser will be 100x more consistent
