In fact, they dropped their voices a lot after Filippo's impossible victory. Of course they were gassed and rooting for Bigham. It's normal, everyone cheers for their compatriots. What I didn't like was when Ganna, with a lordly gesture, waited for Bigham at the balustrade to pay his respects. It was a gesture that needed to be emphasized. But I understand the disappointment for a result that seemed to be achieved. The crowd, the humanity of the people, however, seems to have appreciated.

Di per sè ha fatto quello che fa sempre, un negative split, finendo più forte, è più Bigham che è partito a canna ed è esploso dopo i 3km, se guardi la velocità finisce a 56 orari con Ganna che si mette a fare 61-62!

Bigham trained Ganna. He knew what Ganna could do and tried a long, far out attack. Ganna, cold and calculated, by hook or by crook or by luck or by strength, came back to take it, goddamn incredible. I could watch this 1 million times over

It was truly amazing. Ganna won with a better distribution of efforts, Bigham put everything he had and even more but it wasn't enough. Two champions, both deserve our admiration.

Comunque, l'inseguimento è uno sport spettacolare anche in TV. Ora non voglio dire che è più spettacolare del ciclismo su strada, ma meriterebbe un pubblico maggiore in Italia. Ganna in altri paesi sarebbe un Dio, ospite fisso ovunque, sponsor a pioggia, e tutto meritato. Ma forse è colpa nostra che lo guardiamo solo nelle grandi occasioni e quando c'è un campione del genere.

When you look at the data (speed) it’s not Ganna who is going faster. It’s Bigham who’s speed is dropping dramaticly in the last rounds.

It's the difference between being able to hold 60+ km/h for more than just 4k and basically exploding after 3.5km (Bigham ended up doing 56-57km/h while Pippo was still able to push 61!)..

That Individual Pursuit is any more an Olympic discipline (there is only team pursuit) is a shame, it was the most tradition race in track cycling and they removed it. It's unbelievable (in the most negative way) what years ago they chose to do.

Top Ganna ha mantenuto una velocità costante durante tutta la gara, Bigham ad un certo punto è scoppiato, è passato dai 62-63 km/h improvvisamente ai 53-54 km/h. Probabilmente è partito troppo forte, evidentemente oltre i suoi ritmi abituali

@arrizzolu semplice questione tattica. Bingham conosce Ganna e sa che nessuno ha il suo finale. È partito a tutta cercando di mettere più distanza possibile, sapeva che era l'unico modo per cercare di batterlo. C'è andato vicino ma Pippo non molla mai.
