California's recent firestorms uncovered a problem many didn't know existed, and that has prompted a new law for homeowners replacing garage doors and openers.
Wait a minute wait a minute how do they not know about the Rope up against the garage door opener are you pull it down and unlatch is it and you lift the door up cuz if there's a fire and I'm in my car in my garage I'm gunning it out of there and destroying the garage door
Allegedly 5 people died all over the age of 80 could not get the car out somehow. First I don't believe it but okay perhaps. Instead they put the onus on 11 million other home owners instead perhaps they require people over 80 to ..............insert law here. My installer quoted me 600$ to install a compliant one....and mine is only 3 years old almost never used.
Just yesterday we had a power outage. My neighbor parked in the street because he didn’t know he could open his door manually. Not everyone is as smart as you’d think.
You can do that but the garage door installer wont warranty the door and won't hook it up. Since I want the warranty cause my last door failed prematurely I get to buy a new opener even though I just bought one three years ago.
Thats what the red dangling rope is for (manual door realease)!! Beaurocratic bs. I hope these batteries catch a fire.(well, not really but you know)?!?
Yay a gasket to seal the door so if you drive into your garage not only is your hot water tank in there but gas is from your car is in there all I see is kaboom if there's an emergency and you can't get out of your garage door in the house next door is on fire got it through the damn door if you are afraid to do that well then maybe you deserve not to leave
Same thing on the power windows on your vehicles, once submerged in the water, you can’t open it unless you have something to shatter the windows. Sometime, technology can help you or kill you.
Backup battery is a stupid and unthought and unreliable idea. They should have added manual garage doors but there r ppl with disabilities so for them there can be a attachment by which garage doors can be opened using air which can be pumped by the person. At least this is more reliable backup than battery Edit: wait!!! This can be my school project idea💡
Never understood why garage door PULL RELEASE is hanging over the top of the car where you cant get to it unless you crawl on top of the car... another thing to be fixed ASAP !!!
You're absolutely right about that, and all it would take is a longer cord and an eyebolt in another joist to set it off to wherever you need it. That should be done in all installs.
@@donaldotrumpriguez2024 No... all these damn things have a straight down pull is the problem... I've had a few and I've never seen a side pull yet not that there might be some ?
