Here is the “how” we built our garage door pixel matrix’s. The 2 garage doors we use daily we had to come up with a way to mount the matrix to the doors but still allow us to use the garage doors. Also we didn’t want to put any holes in or through the garage doors so this was the way we came up with. We are using 12V bullet pixels because I want to minimize the amount of power injection cables I have to make.

Super cool!! A couple questions: 1) What do u mean by Coro? Is it Coroplast? 2) Does the Coro come perforated or did you have to drill the holes? 3) What product did you but from Boscoyo for the 3rd door.? A link to it would be great. Thanks.

1.) I used 24"x36" 4 MM WHITE CORRUGATED PLASTIC sheets and cut them to size. I measured what I would need based on the size of our door and using the Boscoyo Sheet as a templete to keep the holes the same distance apart to match the 3rd garage door. 2.) I used the Boscoyo sheet as a template to make all 1360 holes (for each garage door) then yes I had to drill them by hand. I do not have a drill press so I just used a cordless drill and a drill bit for 1/2 of it then I bought a Forstner bit set for the other half. The forstner bits made cleaner holes but still a very tedious process. 3.) For the Boscoyo Product I used for the 3rd garage door was the UltiMesh (No Wind Holes) for Garage Door 2 - 4'x8' sheets. I had to cut about 15" off the bottom of the second sheet to get it to fit in the area for the garage door. Here is a link to the product I purchased. boscoyostudio.com/product/ultimesh-no-wind-holes/

Where did you get the Corro at? Looks great thinking of doing this as it looks much cheaper then buying from Boscoyo. We used those magnets for two props on the garage. Never thought about doing it through the prop I did with zip ties. Want to put on our other garage but it does not flush enough maybe this way it would of get the square lights.

I actually got them from work. I work in a print shop, and they allowed me to buy them. It’s not the usual 10mm, it’s only 4mm but it worked pretty well.. The pieces (sections) didn’t move hardly at all from mid Nov. - Jan 1st. With 2 days we had very high winds, 55+ on 2 different occasions and I only had to adjust 1 panel a little bit to line it back up. That was with daily use up & down a couple time a day , every day. I would agree about the square pixels because they would probably sit flatter & wouldn’t need as long of screws from the garage door to the back of the panel.

Did you have to adjust.the spring to make up,for the extra weight?

Yes, I ended up having to tighten the spring 2 & 1/4 turns for my garage door. With the extra weight and the springs adjusted when manually lifting it you can’t tell it has a matrix attached to it.
