Do you have to remove the chain bar from the header with no a problem?

Good job replacing that header - old one looked pretty sketchy to me. Nice project.

Mine has termite damage as well. Header, jack and king studs are shot around garage door.

Q: at 2:19 wondering: what is the purpose of the three pieces of 2x4 or 6 in the corner?

As a door man my self, I had seen a mistake. Not for the door for the framing of the opening. Jams support header. Look at it atrocious. Good job

Did you replace the doors also? I need to see the framing where the rails attach, especially at the floor level where the concrete stem wall is.

Looks like a lot of work for nothing. As you said, it was not failing... even after 23 yrs of your ownership... so was clearly structurally sound. Framing doesn't have to be pretty to be functional. Some framing is structural... other framing is functional. And if there is no issue with the structural or the functionality--then the framing is doing its job. You could have easily just sistered a few new pieces to the existing anywhere it was undermined by termite or rot and it would have lasted another 25+ yrs.
