Was at a yard sale last year and was looking through a box of silverware when I saw a big wad of 20s under the silverware. I didn't count it but had to be at least a few hundred bucks. Big wad. Without hesitation I took it to the seller and she took it inside where the owner was about crying as she had lost her money for mortgage. So I guess I found it. She insisted on giving me 20 bucks, I tried to refuse but she wouldn't take no for an answer. So I just took it and thanked her and left
Ya definitely did the right thing.. just think how many garage sale people would have stuffed the cash in a bag and asked how much.. you know they are out there... SMH

Omg I had that happen to one I was visiting. Some dude walked yea that 20$ is mine. A girl no older than 12 walks up saying she dropped her “life savings” of 20$ and she politely asked if the homeowner found it. Homeowner was a woman and her husband standing behind her looking like a pit bull was a marine stationed at Pendleton. The marine walked over to the guy, asked him “politely” for the money back. Gave the girl her money and I slipped in another 20$ just cause of how fucked that was. Don’t be a dick and steal peoples money like that 😂
