Sometimes "cleaning" the garbage disposal is not the real fix. It's temporary... You must find the source of "smell" and eliminate it. This video will hell you to properly diagnose the problem.
Great video! I'm a newly single parent and never had to deal with home repair issues until now. I certainly have zero experience in plumbing. Hiring someone usually results in being overcharged. I'm learning new skills to take care of it myself. Thanks for the easy and well explained video!
i think this was the video & explanation i was looking for. the air gap keeps leaking water from the dishwasher. so it’s possible the air gap hose needs to be replaced or the rubber hose to the garbage disposal. thank you
Wow I’ve been asking my hubs to fix the stank for about 2-3 weeks now, he just left for work and I looked up “how to’s” here on yt and found your video! Running to the hardware store and hopefully have this puppy fixed by the time husband gets home! He’s gonna be so proud 🥲 😂 Thanks for the great simple short but knowledgeable video! God bless from CO!
Great Video. I'm a Landscaper, Irrigation Sprinkler Specialist, Insraller and don't do much plumbing so this was really really helpful. I got this problem at my house so I'll dig into now that I know what to look for. Great Video
Sam...another area of STINK..is the actual rubber boot on the sink drain of the desposer. You need to clean with a cleaner...the UNDERSIDE... of the rubber boot. Mine was slimy and smelly. I followed instructions, from another youtuber. That was my bad smell . Good video...on other areas to look for bad smells. Thanks for sharing...
You prolly dont give a shit but does someone know of a way to get back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid lost the login password. I would appreciate any tricks you can offer me.
@Alexander Wells Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and im trying it out atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Perfect. I guess I will have to call a plumber because I am too scared to change the dishwasher line myself. I don’t want to cause any issues. Thanks Sam!
I'm Still working on my smelly disposal after using the lemons, ice, baking soda / vinegar bleach and scrub brushes and commercial packets. I'm about ready to take the unit our and try cleaning under the rotating plate since everything else is spotless. This hose you show is the only other thing possible except the piping above the trap. THANKS for a great video
Hey Sam. Thanks. I’m having this issue in my apartment currently and the smell is from every sink. Is that still connected to the garbage disposal or would you say that is some other problem? I have health issues and so I am nervous about the putrid smell. Hope you reply. Thank you.
Ok so wait... My dishwasher line is lying flat... but I've always used a dishwasher tab when I run the dishwasher... and a shotglass worth of bleach...Used to dishwasher detergents actually had chlorine bleach but most of them don't now... I would imagine that the bleach solution getting sucked out in the first drain would kill anything in the lines?
I learned I just need to call someone to do this for me. I only put throughly rinsed dishes in the dish washer so the smell may be coming from the disposal but it only smells when I have the dishwasher running?
