Not many people seem to notice how well Shirley moves, struck me the first time I saw Garbage - loose and elegant but perfectly catching the rythmn, subtle nods and flicks to accent/emphasie certain beats or words.
I miss the 80's. Kids did not have cell phones and talked as well as played with each other. No internet unless you had money flowing out of your pockets. We had music and the radio to listen to. All that changed in the early 90's when the internet spread like wild fire. Now kids are staring at their phones where ever you see them and they are indoors on their playstions. Funny thing about a playstation is this, i was first introduced to garbage on the PS one game called Gran Turismo. This song was on it. I remember racing aroung the track listenign to this. Now they are among my top 5 bands and on par with pink floyd.
What an amazing performance.I wish I was there at that moment in time. Her voice is infectious and the band sounds so cool. I have watched this video so many times and it never gets boring. 10/10
Such a big fan of Shirley and Garbage and always loved her edgy vibe, but I can't help but feel like her mannerisms in this performance are adopting a lot of Gwen Stefani's live performance style from that time period. Either way, Shirley has an amazing voice and presence on stage and the band sounds amazing! Super polished!
One of my fave Garbage performances. At 1:36 the guitar was supposed to make a different noise but i guess something wasnt set correct so Steve had to go fix it. At 1:49 Shirley looks back like "is everything ok back there??" Thats about when he gets the riff noise going correct.
