41 Christmas trees being collected by 9 private and municipal trash trucks in western Los Angeles County.
The City of L.A. makes the first appearance of the video, back to their old ways of collecting all trees with their standard automated trucks on green waste. Last year rumor had it that most trees outside of carts were collected by a front loader (at least on the Westside). Seen throughout the video are three 2016 CNG Amrep HX450s and four 2005 diesel Amrep Octos.
The second appearance of the video is made by Universal Waste Systems in the Mesa Heights Garbage Disposal District. Seen is an older beat up 2001 Crane Carrier with a Pak-Mor Load-Liner body on it.
Lastly you'll see one of the City of Santa Monica's CNG Crane Carrier Scorpion ASLs. The city's main tree collection effort comes when they sweep the city on Sundays throughout January with their rear loaders. However, this driver's second and final load of the day ended up being a measly 73 cans due to the fact that it was an overtime day and they had extra drivers helping out which left plenty of room in the truck to collect a few trees for fun.
Big thanks to Victor, Raymond, Rafael, Humphrey, Wallace, and Eddie from the City of LA, Bobby and Octavio from Universal Waste, and Eduardo from Santa Monica. Filmed January 2018
