The 'every highway is a battlefield' blurb on the first Outrider is hilarious. And just in case prospective purchasers didn't get it 'the one true road warrior comes' erased any doubt that, yes, they held a genuine Mad Max rip-off in their hands. Of course I owned them! Just the first four though, didn't know about #5.

Loved your reaction to the cover art, Scott! Since the cover is so gawd-awful and the author is unknown, what made you buy the book?

I was looking for a Men's Adventure specifically for GarbAugust that I thought was probably overlooked, something outside more well-known series, but still wasn't a stand-alone. The story description sold me, and I saw that it had a lot of enthusiastic fans back in the '80s. After reading the first chapter, I was in for the ride. And to be honest, the cover was so bad, I knew I had to talk about it.
