Lovely, I really enjoyed that Adam, thank you it's incredibly windy, gusty wet weather here at the moment but you've definitely brightened up my day - Spring is coming !

Thank you. Yes Spring will be here very soon, and if the weather is being kind then there's plenty to do around the garden to prepare!

I wish I had found your channel long ago, you are so knowledgeable. I also garden in Cambridgeshire but on heavy clay soil, quite a challenge!!

Delighted to see you've found my channel. Do check out some of my other videos too. I garden on a clay soil here in Peterborough, so my advice for anyone gardening on clay is firstly to invest in as much organic soil conditioner as possible, and feed your soil. Also make your own compost. And mulch, mulch, mulch!

@@Adams-Gardening-Guides I'm in Peterborough too! Thank you, I will get some soil conditioner today.

@@debshomegarden8501 yes I buy it every winter for spreading a thick mulch over borders, and digging in to help break-up and improve soil when planting. Over the years I've used well composted farmyard manure, mushroom compost (that does usually contain some lime), or any similar peat-free compost material. And, of course, compost all your kitchen and garden waste. I have traditional compost bins, worm bins, and check out my video on Trench Composting: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bR_Vd2oTdxk.html

Thank you for the wonderful video. Same issue here in West Midlands with clay soil. New to gardening so any particular soil conditioner that you recommend? Any advice is much appreciated !

Pleased to see you've discovered my channel, and do check out my latest video with a Spring Garden Action Plan. When I first moved in to this garden I bought loads of mushroom compost (delivered by a local mushroom farm), and despite it's lime content this is ideal for improving clay soil. Make your own compost of course, but every year I buy bags of whatever I can find a good offer on .... Compost Farmyard Manure, Peat-Free Compost, or any other bulky composted green waste or other organic manure/material. Visit local garden centres and DIY stores to see what offers they have available, as it's often cheaper buying a large batch of compost rather than single bags. PS You might sometimes find offers for bulk loads from online suppliers but I've found their high delivery cost makes these more expensive than buying locally.

Another inspiring video, I have trouble growing clematis, wish I was back in Surrey, Guildford where it’s warmer, and gardening was easier. Seeing your phobia, I had one but all the leaves died and fell off, do you think it’ll grow back ?
@Adams-Gardening-Guides
@Adams-Gardening-Guides 4 месяца назад
So hard to tell. Give it the benefit of teh doubt and leave. Some clematis do send up new shoots from below ground level, but if nothing has appeared by, say, June I don't think you'll be in luck I'm afraid. Keeping everything crossed!
