Thank-you, just what I had in mind for my chicken yard, I've been using t-bar and plastic snow/garden fence and pulling back my door when I have to go in or out. Well after 2 years it's sagging, so time to do something a bit more sturdy. I had a similar idea in mind but needed a visual to show my husband so he can help build it. I will need to build narrower double gates (need to get my lawnmower through the yard) but it will work perfectly for me.

Nice build 😊 Good idea to let your poles settle for at least a week before hanging a gate on them or alternatively nail in a support across the top to give them support until they settle so the weight of the gate doesn’t pull it in👍🏽

Nice video thank you! Some people burn the beam/pole so it will resist the ground's moisture better.

Are those posts 4x4 or are they 2x4 also? Building a dog fence.

The posts that are in the ground are a treated landscape timber. The gates themselves are 2×4. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions!

I packed dirt around it and used the end of the shovel to pack it tight. I hope this helps!
