What is the distance from ground level to the top of the slab? I want to keep it as low as possible to give myself max height inside. Thanks

We dug this one out for exactly that reason and sunk the slab into the ground. We had approx 50mm step up from ground to slab. Hope that helps!

@@ihohBespokeGardenrooms nice one thanks. Just didn't know if there was a minimum because of damp etc. One more question if you don't mind. Do you have to use a steel or can you use timber for the lintel over the bifold door? Basically using a local company that make timber summer houses to build the walls for me and I am not sure they use steel in their construction.

@@muscleprotein no problem mate. Because of the cladding overhang, the clearance from the slab was about 100mm so any rainwater drains into the ground away from the slab and the slab is inside a DPM sheet which protects from damp also. We did also put a pea gravel mini trench around the perimeter which was approx 100mm wide by 200mm deep. What size width doors are you having? We used a steel simply because of the size of those bi folds. You could definitely use timber, if it is 1, not a huge opening and 2, structurally strong enough to take the roof weight. Hope that all makes sense

@@ihohBespokeGardenrooms thanks for all the info. The size of my gym will be 5 x 3.2 external. I want 3m wide sliding doors but the actual opening will be much less. Looks like your bifold but effectively just one of the doors slides so not sure if this changes anything. I am part building myself to keep the cost down as hope to build a poor man's version of yours for 12k all in hopefully ha
