I love how much effort you put into each and every one of your projects. It all shows in the end result which is such a huge transformation. It goes to show just a bit of tlc makes all the difference ❤️❤️
I love how relaxing your garden is. You’re really treating your house with the love and respect it deserves. My house was built in 1893 (Retford, Nottinghamshire) and I love the original features and the original wall surrounding the garden. We STILL have the original outside toilet and shed! Thanks for motivating me to get in my garden!x
I think you’ve done a great job. A good fabric hack for an outdoor seat cover, is to use a fabric shower curtain. They come in a large size, usually inexpensive, can be easily sewn and are waterproof. Thanks for sharing Hermione
I always wear crocs but also gloves if picking up splintered wood or stone or working with soil.. I hate it under my nails.. But this wasn't "heavy duty" gardening that Harmonie was doing.. So no steel capped boots really needed!
Please dont pressure wash ur wall!! I have a home with original garden walls from the 1600s and the worst thing you can do is pressure wash them, once there pointed up get some bleach and scrub them with a brush they'll come up lovely!! As for the concrete slab we did have one but pulled it up and found a few goodies underneath:) x
@@mael2039 ooh I wonder what the reasoning behind that was? In ye olden days people would often secrete a shoe in the chimney or other places to guard against witches etc 🤔
you should pressure wash your walls , just don't use a high pressure nozzle that could damage a surface . Not all nozzles are made the same. The y have different , nozzle 's for different surfaces , ask your hardware clerks for help in picking one out
It’s beautiful. You are so clever. It’s so nice to see a young lady knowing how to sew and create the swing seat. I have to remake ours every couple of years. Hope you enjoy it. 🪡🧵
You are a breath of fresh air. Love the huge impact of your projects. Every other DIY / home decor RU-vidr have the EPIC / EXTREME / UNBELIEVABLE TRANSFORMATION on every single title, where they basically just added a layer of fresh paint, to an empty space. Your creativity and straight-to-the-point is lovely.
it turned out so great!! first thought i had for hiding the brick pile was to put a wooden piece like a countertop on there and make the corner into like a bar or grill area! or even just a space to elevate some more plants👀🌸
The dust sheet for the cushion cover works really well - it has a nice rustic outdoorsy look. I love discovering small details like you did with the Greek key pattern on the blue plant pot, it makes clean-ups so worth it! The gravel covering the bunker was a great way to transform that area without major building work - nice tip :-)
Hermione after watching all your room decor videos I make them for my room as well and every one likes it all the credit goes to you .you r a superstar now my room looks fab.
So pretty! I love how your few simple DIYs totally transformed it. I just decorated my patio and it's been so nice to be out there and enjoy the outdoors a bit. 😌🌿
Painting up that old rusty bench swing with that same paint used on the table would really gave it life! In case you ever need another slip cover try a double or queen bed sized Duvet cover. I bought mine at a thrift alley shop but have seen them plenty at boot sales, flea markets and the like.mine was a Laura Ashley brand in a gingham print on one side and a toile on the reverse.all in white and blue.it came with shams so I had instant throw pillow slip covers.and all machine washable!
Beautiful! I've been loving being out in the garden this spring. Could you be a dear, and show us a pan shot sometime of how much you've done? Like from your back patio/dining area onto this new area? I love seeing areas all come together. :-)
It's great you did all the makeovers on your own. I always feel great just out in the yard doing a little makeover at a time. I really wished you had power pressure the walls & get rid of the green grime off. I would make it a lot brighter. Nice job on all you've done thus far!!!!
The gravel worked really well, made it look more like an intentional little section! I have to be honest, I was quite unsure about the dust cloth seat cover while you were making but it turned out really well! The whole area looks lovely 😊
I just chanced upon your video today as I want to do a backgarden project . You have given me several ideas on your previous videos so wanted to see the progress you have made. And today, with an added surprise to discover that you are an ARMY :)
It came out so nice!! It looks very cozy, definitely a 180 from what it used to be. I imagine it’s a lot nicer being out in the garden now that it’s been made over ☺️
It looks gorgeous, well done. Amazing with a bit of hard work and tlc how you can transform an unused space into a little oasis at the bottom of the garden
Wow Hermione, I really love how the back of your garden turned out. It is pretty amazing how hard work and perserverance pays off. I love how cleaning things up made that space seem so much larger. I have a backyard that needs some TLC, and I am anxious to tackle it soon. I love the gravel that is under your swing, I think having a swing in the backyard would be so much fun. Thanks again Hermione, enjoy your space and I look forward to your next video, stay safe, sending love and hugs, buy for now.
my hint for my garden swing is always cover it with a super cheap blanket. You can use it to snuggle into or easy peasy to throw in the washer when the birds *&%$ on it.
Hi Hermione, you garden space looks amazing. Well done. We live in Wales and have a similar house, it looks like the space was originally used as a greenhouse 1/2 brick 1/2 glass, they were very often effected against walls on one side. The door would of been on the side and a brick compost bin on the other, which you have😀 love your channel. 💕💕
Wow what a transformation! I'd love to sit there and do some working or relaxing :) How a new cover can transform the whole look of the swing, in the beginning I thought you might just have bought a new one because it looks completly different. Well done! 😊❤️
I will and I could never get tired of your videos!! I love your style so much, so fresh, and nice and open and full of light...!! And the best part is that is on a budget!
The looks of that area it looks like it could have been the old site of the “outhouse” we still have ours, though ours was never actually a toilet, but when built (1948-1950) it was supposed to be a wash house (laundry not people) and toilet, but the toilet was actually built as part of the house instead. But your house being a Victorian, it was possibly a room to do the laundry and there was probably a toilet too. Which is why it’s is close enough to access from the house in horrible weather, but far enough away to not be smelly in the house.
Well done you for doing such a great job. I really admire how you just get stuck in and do a lot on a small budget. So stylish too. I'm not practical with DIY jobs at all but you're inspiring me to be brave and maybe try!
Omg omg wot a transformation looks real nice and zenny l can imagine myself just sitting and chilling and reading a book looks great well done 👍🏻👌🏻❤️💜❤️💜🌈🌈
Re the concrete slab, judging by the size, it’s probably the stand for an oil tank. Before mains gas some house had oil for heating water and early forms central heating. My home was built in the sixties and has an area in one corner that is all broken bricks and lumps of concrete and we know that was the base for an oil tank that was removed when the house was converted to mains gas.
HERMIONE, you are so clever. You change rubble into a lovely place for you to relax and enjoy your English Country Garden. Thank you for sharing your talents, so many, and the results. Be safe, be well, and take care. Hugs to you, your mother, and your Grandmother. Alice from SC, US, where I'm trying to redo my back garden, but we're having so much sunshine, rain, and hot moist air that the weeds keep growing back, larger than before; but I have reclaimed my little figure eight pebble path.
that was a lot of work to get the bricks out and trim and sweep and rake! but it was well worth it. BTW I loooooooooove swings! So relaxing! Enjoy your backyard, it looks beautiful!
@HermioneChantal My Dad did a really cool, similar project to yours last week; he dug out some an area where it was just weeds and soil, put some long wooden sleepers down to make a square, and then filled it with gravel, so then we can put the swing bench back on it!! I love watching your videos so much!! I really enjoyed this one, it was so satisfying, I have been doing loads of organising and cleaning in my house!! Hope all your family and yourself are doing great!! 😊❤
You could do a button closure or use strips of velcro, or even a very long zipper (?) for the seat cushion. Tfs 💗💗💗💗💗 Love a Hermione video 💗 You did a wonderful job on this outdoor project !
Looks really lovely and peaceful- great save with the swing seat too👏👍 All the footwear comments make me smile- i used to be a cave tour guide and so many visitors would trot in on the very high heels and wedges!! 😂
Girl you did a terrific job! You just seem to have a knack for knowing how to style things so they look so inviting and lovely! Enjoyed this so much, thank you for sharing!👏💓☀️🌼🧤
Gurl u r my champ.. u did a wonderful job getting that space to become a staycation..(stay at home vacation)😄..♥️it.. keep up the great work that u do..👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Hermione - I want to drop by with a good book and a glass of lemonade and sit on your swing under the garden lights and enjoy your space. You did a lovely job on this area as well as the patio. What a transformation! So cozy and lovely. Thank you for sharing it. Blessings - Judth
Hermione Chantal I would love to but I live in Michigan in America and will have to make do sitting on the balcony of my apartment. Still, with a good book, though. Has your Nan seen your latest achievement in the garden? I know she helped with the patio. She's probably so proud of you. She seems like such a sweet person. Have a lovely weekend, my friend. Blessings - Judith
You've made your home so lovely, I've really enjoyed watching every video you've posted renovating the house and yard... I'll actually be sad if you do sell it in the future, I know it's silly but I mean it lol
Nice to see how to use the steamer as brought one for daughter as of to university. Made me chuckle at the beginning when you said 'laundry room's soo American, its utility room here in Britain, but as I've watched so many diy videos this last yr keep finding myself saying the different abbreviation also😂🤣💫😂🤣
Wow what a great job !! Such a transformation !! You are such a hard worker. I hope you get lots of lovely weather so you can really enjoy the space. (As an Australian I was cringing as you were clearing away the old bricks etc and doing so in open shoes as we have so many spiders and snakes here !). Your garden is very pretty. I enjoy your videos. Best wishes from Australia :))
Isn't it awesome what some gravel and a little hard work can do for a space? It turned out so beautiful, you should be very proud of the work you are doing. I bet it is lovely sitting and listening to the seagulls :)
