I have seen this layout a few times, and I have to say it is epic. I admire the civil engineering that has gone into building this layout. It was wonderful and thank you for the tour.

No 25 is closely based on the Baldwin locomotives which operated on the 2ft gauge Sandy River And Rangeley Lakes Railroad in Maine, USA, around 1895 - 1935
This is really similar to the Bitter Creek & Western in central California, which is also built on the side of a hill with bridges and tunnels, 7 1/2 inch gauge, a working signal system for safety, and about 15 minutes to ride all the way around. Both are incredible!

Hi David. Not my railway but I do know the tunnels were done by the cut and cover method. Please see my Garden Railway in Italy Part 2 video for a record of the opening weekend activities. Plenty of visiting locos of all shapes and sizes!
What a great little railway winding its way down and back up the hillside. The builders and whoever thought of building on the hillside deserves a pat on the back for such a well thought out line.

Fantastic, thanks for posting this. Just one criticism, they could do with a token system between sections if they are operating more than one train, some of those curves are quite tight and the sighting isn't very good if there is another train coming in the opposite direction, apart from that what a lovely layout.
There was! Unfortunately some of the drivers didn't understand how the system should work if there was more than one train going on the same direction. Everyone just drove carefully and there were no accidents. I understand that signalling is ultimately to follow.
