Garden sprayer not spraying? Try cleaning out the hose and sprayer handle. Here is how it's done. Give me a thumbs up if you like and please subscribe to my channel.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this video! I went to use ours a few hours ago and it wouldn't work. I had already mixed the solution and was ready to go into "battle", and ended up using a regular old hand trigger cleaning bottle to spray my son's room. With it being the middle of the night and no ride to Wal-Mart, I decided to throw in the towel and wait to get another sprayer. Then I stumbled across your video and was able to unclog it. Thanks again for your video!
Two seasons in a row my sprayer got clogged. I watched this video again and unclogged it again. Two different problems, two different solutions. Thank you very much for saving my sanity and some money.
Thanks. This solved my problem. My flow tube inside the sprayer bottle had become detached. In my sprayer it's nothing more than a long straw. Who knew something so simple could shut me down totally. I'm up and running now.
Glad my little video could be of help. Sometimes its the little thing that cause some big headaches. Again, glad I was here to help you out. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Have a great day!!
Nice to hear the kids playing in the background! You can tell by the sounds that they've learned how to have a good time without their faces glued to screens!
Nice video man! Thanks for the tips. I've bought countless garden sprayers and always end up throwing them away. I knew they were clogged but never took the time u did to disassemble. Thanks!
Hey, I understand. I've thrown a few away myself before I tore that one apart to figure out why it isnt working. Glad it worked for you. Thanks for taking the time to leave a cool comment! Have a great day!
Thank you so much. Boyfriend insisted it was time to throw away, but it works just fine after the water flush! And now one less household item in the dump and cleaner carbon footprint. Again, thaaaannnkkkk you so much!
I tried rinsing my blocked pieces under a faucet with no success. I will try again with a hose. Thanks for the detailed walkthrough, exactly what I was looking for.
I used this, and it worked! But it stopped spraying again after about 2 minutes. I've pumped it and it still will not spray. Surely it wouldn't have gotten clogged again so quickly? Any recommendations? I was using it when it quit the first time. The pressure is building up in the bottle, but nothing will come out of the sprayer.
Also the cylinder of the pump has a round rubber flap that you can lift up at the edge, run it under water and swipe your finger around it. There are holes under the flap that can get clogged.
HELP!! My Green Thumb 131384 sprayer is full and fully pressurized, but won't spray (though it worked earlier today!) How do I SAFELY release the pressure to begin the cleaning process shown in your video??
how often is regularly? How long can I leave the solution in before I have to clean it. I get tired of cleaning out the round up everyday day after day, do you think it is okay to leave it in for a week without cleaning.
Chuck, (Help) water keeps coming out of handle area .I filled with plain water after it sucked out 1,/ 2 gal. vingar lost worked for a bit. then started sucking water out at pump handle area .
Thank you so much, you are a good teacher! i happened to have a problem to my sprayer yesterday, I'll try to fix it today, just what's that device attach to the hose which you adjust your water flow with.

Thanks Chuck! Man? I watched my BOSS throw too many of these things away&waste $$$$$ that could've gone in my pocket cause I'm the Guy who actually sprays the weeds at all new Properties as well as maintaining lots that he Already owns; Man? It got to this point of where I was getting TIRED of being sent to Lowes every 3 Jobs! Thanks again Chuck! If this continues to work? I'll have Sprayers for SALE! 🤣🤣🤣✌

You've missed the most cleaning step. Remove the handle and clean out the plunger and spring assembly in the handle. Use a flat blade screwdriver to pry to handle off gently.
These things have terrible engineering and are mostly made in China so they are very problematic. One of the most obvious flaws I've seen in 90% of these cheap ass sprayers is there is NO filter or screen down at the bottoms of the pickup tube inside the tanks so when you get any kind of dirt, debris, congealed cleaner, bleach, chemicals it gets picked up and lodges somewhere in the sprayer gun small valves assembly or the tip. It always happens. Why in God's green earth the factory's don't put a small screen, open cell foam or filter down at the end of the pick up tube is beyond me? I think they know most people just throw them away and buy new ones!!! What a way to sell your products!!!! Next time i buy one i'm making sure it has a filter on the bottom of the damn pick up tube or make my own out of open cell foam (like an air filter foam materials) and glue it on on the end with cyanoacrylate fast dry adhesive....bet it will work great!! good video...thanks....been there and done that many times and gets old fast. These things can drive you nuts!!!!
Mine is brand new and only put water in it to test before putting chemicals in it. A Round Up 2 gallon sprayer. Nothing works- nothing comes out after pumping like 100 times
I've a kingfisher 5 litre water pressure sprayer that's pumping OK but then air leaking from underneath green cap. New seals, o rings have been added but no difference.
Hi, thank you so much. I followed your steps , I found the little yellow tip on the end of the hose needed a pin to open each section of the grooves at the end. The sprayer hose finally cleared. Hopes this helps someone else . 😊
I'm wondering if anyone can help identify what my issue is: I have a Solo sprayer (manual). When I begin using the handheld pump to gain pressure, I can hear the liquid bubbling and within a few minutes the liquid starts overflowing through the top of the sprayer. It doesn't matter if I fill the pressure sprayer half way, 1/4 way or full, the same thing constantly happens. Everything is tight (lid, wand, all connections etc.). Filter is clean. I'm stumped as to why it keeps happening :'(
thanks! your video showed about cleaning the tube and another video showed about cleaning/repairing the handle. between these 2 videos, i now see that it's not yet a time to just throw away these sprayers before checking out some possible diy easy repairs on them. thank you very much!
I did what you said it work for a few minutes then I tried so the problem is where it connects to the 2-gallon it will not come out looks like it is glue in so what do I do next
is it possible to take the handle apart and clean it? I don't know how the Chinese make some of this stuff. There seems to be mechanical moving parts inside of a sealed plastic casting.
Thank you for this but sadly, here it is 2021 and they must have wised up to this because our sprayer handle doesn't come apart nicely as your did. It is affixed together. Have a blessed day and thank you again
The trigger won't lift on mine? I have no idea why! How does it work? I have no idea? Does it have a spring? Does it work through pumping? It's not stopped up. Does air lift it? I can't find ONE video. Not one. Can't believe no one else has this problem? Why won't the trigger lift?
After I give my sprayer a few pumps the thing just keeps spraying by it self without me pressing the handle to spray? I will take it apart to see if that would help. Thank u.
Thank you! The secret to success is to use the “jet stream” on your garden hose! I use a sprayer from Ace Hardware for vinegar weed killer and tried to clean it with the faucet in my utility sink. It still wouldn’t spray. After watching the video I used the jet spray setting on my garden hose to clean the various parts of the spray apparatus. When I finished spraying I cleaned them again with the hose and left the parts unattached so they can dry thoroughly. I think the vinegar and salt are part of the problem. They seem to crystallize in the spray apparatus. Again, thank you very much. RJ. Durango, CO
