Thanks very much. After having one of the least productive days of my life... I was frustrated with how to organize all my garden tools. You are saved me from ripping my hair out. Thanks again for all your Great ideas.

Nice job. I just picked up a bunch of scrape lumber from a subdivision build site. I plan on doing pretty much the same in my sheds. Thanks for sharing.

I'm glad you did this video. I just built a 10x16 shed and my yard tooling is sitting in a corner of it. That'll change in a few days. Thank you.

Thank you! After using it for a while, I have found it to be easy to use and even encourages the kids to put tools back where they belong. Sure beats the clutter in the corner it replaced!

Just bought a shed yesterday. This is a great idea!

Thanks! With little effort I think it so much more customizable than store bought options AND it used up scraps taking up space that I would have eventually tossed anyway. Also, no bumping tools off the wall when passing by since most are recessed into the stud cavity. Thanks!

Awesome job! My problem is that once you have a place to store the tools, there’s no more projects left to use the tools. 😭

Lots of great ideas! I have a lot of the same tools, but only one pick axe - I hope to never buy another. Thanks for the idea to go outside of the 3.5" deep cavity and saying what size wood you were using. You made some good points about trying different systems or letting tools accumulate in a corner. My tools first sat in a corner, then bought the Rubbermaid fast track system from Home Depot- which made them sit out really far and was a complete waste of space and money, now are back in the corner but thanks to another video and yours will be going up soon. I like your apron, shoulder harness -where's that from?

Question: Is there any wiring running in your walls? My garage has open studs and old cloth wiring in it running at knee level. I was going to redo it all but can't find what the NEC says about running wires in open studs.
@justaddwood
@justaddwood Год назад
Good question. I do not have any wires to deal with. I would think you wouldn't want any tools pressing on the exposed wiring.
@tomsko863
@tomsko863 Год назад
@@justaddwood I don't know if electrical conduit is required or if running the wires high (~7ft from the ground) suffices. Like I said, I spent time looking in NEC and I can't find an explanation. I tried calling my cities building department but they never call back.

As a contractor that has about 30 or so handled tools. I need help. What do yall do? The trash can method isnt working.
@justaddwood
@justaddwood 10 месяцев назад
I prefer the method in this video. As a former contractor I have entirely too many shovels, rakes, and what not. I've tried everything, pvc, trashcans, shelves, hooks, ect. Hanging similar shaped tools all in a single file row really makes them organized and easy to grab for me. And by playing with the layout, I can fit more tools on one wall than I ever could in a couple trashcans.

@13:22 I'd be focused on securing the shed (door lock set) before customizing it to hold my yard tools. Good, simple solution for storage when you don't want to insulate.

unless you have a stockpile of scrap wood and more tools than a tradesman then these modifications are of no use to the average home owner with a small shed or garage. What mods can be done using basic tools/equipment?

Sir, why aren’t you using a clamp rather than having the jig saw within an inch of your hand! 😮
