Thank you. I love seeing your tower updates. I love seeing the celery factory. I'm learning a lot - like line trellis fishing line and that you can plant zukes up so high

I think of you everyday when I am out in the garden. Been gardening for years. All raised beds and a greenhouse. Lot of work, and expensive, but I love my garden. Always have. BUT after watching you I am using one of my TG outside for the first time. It has been out loaded with seedlings now since mid/late April. I have both cool weather and warm weather seedlings in it and both are thriving. I have a water heater in it and use a light frost cover to help with those zone 6a spring temp swings. I am out there everyday slaving over the soil beds. Lugging compost, making my own soil, weeding, watering, preparing beds etc... And every time I pass by the TG standing so tall in the bright sunshine doing so well with so little attention in comparison I think "What am I doing, I need more of these". You are an inspiration. Thanks for all you do!!

I love this testimony so much! Thank you for sharing. There is magic in soil gardening. I just enjoy it more in tiny doses instead of relying on it for the majority of my food.

Can’t agree more! As I get older, I appreciate hydroponics more than anything.

I'm in your boat as well. I've had a garden for over 20 years and had a system down. Every fall, I'd blow my leaves to a pile and shred them. In the spring, I'd combine it with grass clippings and shredded cardboard (so many Amazon boxes) and by June, I'd have soil for my garden. I always plant enough tomatoes to freeze for stews and that would get us through the winter. But not being able to slice a tomato and put it on a burger or not being able to make a tomato, basil and cheese (can't remember the type of cheese) salad in the winter sucks. What REALLY sucks is spending $6 on a small cube of lettuce, only using half of it, then throwing away the rest when it goes bad. I'm a DIYer and want to build my own tower, but I also try to be practical with my time, especially as I get older. I'm going to probably buy a TG as well and compare the results I get from the two.

@@dontbanmebrodontbanme5403 You will love having a tower. I just harvested a fresh tomato, cucumber, lettuce, and herbs for a sandwich and we are 2 months from those things being ready in the soil still. Game changer for replacing the grocery store for sure.

Thanks for sharing your garden! You have the most informative videos on this type of gardening on RU-vid! I’ve been growing in GreenStalk Vertical towers for a number of years but want to get into Aeroponic gardening. I’m still in the learning phase….your videos will certainly help me. Do you get high winds where you are? If so, how do the plants in your tower garden handle high winds? I am building a tower right now that I'm planning on putting on my dock in the Western NC Mountains, but it''s been so blustery these last few days, I'm having second thoughts.
@theaeroponictowerchannel
@theaeroponictowerchannel 4 месяца назад
We get really high winds here and I have never had an issue. The Tower Garden version is super stable. You can also clamp the top to the base and it's full of 20 gallons of water so it's not going over. I haven't ever had to do that though.

Love watching the videos of your towers & garden, I have three towers now and I want more. I did notice less pests growing on these towers and my garden is very small so I love having this option to grow more food by growing vertically and they look beautiful.

I noticed you use only the net cups. Do you not like the clips or have a preference?
@theaeroponictowerchannel
@theaeroponictowerchannel 4 месяца назад
I use both. I don’t really have a preference except I prefer not to use clips with things with larger roots like a pepper plant because I can’t always get the roots out if I want to move the plant if the top part isn’t contained in the net pots. The clips allow the roots to grow wide at the top and I have had plants get stuck.

I'm in the North Georgia portion of the Appalachian Mountains. How do you keep the deer away?
@theaeroponictowerchannel
@theaeroponictowerchannel 4 месяца назад
They don't mess with the towers. They make noise and I don't have mono crop towers, like a whole tower of green beans, so it's not a natural foraging environment for a deer. I spread the beans across towers to be careful. We have so many deer and I have never even seen them show interest in the towers and they foraged just 10 feet from them.
@UrbanWindowFarmer
@UrbanWindowFarmer 4 месяца назад
@theaeroponictowerchannel Our deer here are bold. My towers aren't monocrop either. I came home from an event one day, and they plucked the plants out of every slot. All that was left was the rockwool and a 2 inch stem. So I moved the towers to my back deck.

How long does it take for your beets to be ready for harvest
@theaeroponictowerchannel
@theaeroponictowerchannel 3 месяца назад
5-6 months. So long!! That is why interval planting is important and I grow them in the baby greens section so it isn't costing me other food that could be growing. They are a commitment crop and I grow them more as a medicine than food.
