I moved last year and tried to keep my allotment going 45 miles away. Despite hospitality and help from friends there it was a bit of a write off, but now I have the excitement of setting up a new veg garden as you do in your back garden, and you are doing amazingly well both at your plot and in your garden despite the weather this year😊
I chitted my cucumbers and Sweetcorn, Sweetcorn rotted in the soil so chitted and got full germination. Nice update Nick. ♻️Happy gardening, Terry King.
Hi Nick the cheesy cauliflower looking good my friend I've only got two plants as val gave the wrong plants to our daughter 😅 We had our first two Clapton cauliflowers Sunday nice and tasty , hope you enjoyed your bbq.
Hi guys I hope the cheesy keeps growing so it's my biggest. It's only in a smallish pot maybe 15-20litres but it's in homemade compost.👌🙏😁 Go to your daughter's house to eat them 😄 👌❤️
Thanks Mike I haven't made any effort to protect the plants here yet other than remove a few slugs I've found, I might have to try a bit harder to protect them with some bottle cloches. The cauliflower is romping away.👍👌🙏😁
Wow your brassicas are looking awesome, we love broccoli but I’ll wait and sow later as it’s 30 here for weeks 🥵. Here comes June start watering 😂. Hope you are settling in and having a great week cous, Ali 🌞🥵🥵🇨🇦
Hi Ali the cauliflower is massive, can't remember what I planted it in or what I gave it to eat😅. The broccoli matsuri is idiot proof to grow 😅, probably not a fair trial. 🙏👌👍😊❤️
I'm sure i saw a little wiggle finger at the beginning there..🤪 Ah, Lucy, what a pretty name for a kitty cat.. It's all looking better every time you do a tour of your garden...🐮🐮🐮
Too bad about the cukes, Nick. Heat can really run away on us with any type of cover. It looks like your love/hate potatoes are snuggled up to each other! ❤️❤️ Have you tried a perimeter of spent coffee grounds to keep slugs away? Of course, once they are inside the perimeter, that won't work 😕 ~ Sandra
Hi Sandra I'm not used to that tiny greenhouse where it's positioned, full sun all day and it gets red hot in town. School boy error leaving the lid on too. Hopefully the last one will grow.🤞🙏👌👍❤️😁
Thanks Elaine I was going to do more in containers but my move buggered a lot of things up this year, the cheesy is looking like my best cauliflower yet. Corn was a disaster this year, I might try and get some starts from the garden centre.😁❤️👍🙏👌
@nickthegardener.1120 Corn, hedge your bets, do both. I'm on 3rd seeding of peas because I'm not getting anywhere. The Broad beans have flowers, no beans. Go figure lol. 🤔
@@allotmentjoy i will send you some peas for next year or this year if I get organised. I need to buy some bags to send stuff out but I'm mega busy ATM. Not too bothered if I don't get much in the ground now as I can concentrate on getting sorted for next year.👍🙏👌❤️😁
Hi Tony that's a shame mate, I'm not growing squash this year. Moving house really put a spanner in the works for this year. Hopefully I will be organised next year. 😁👍👌🙏
