Geez. All the guy was doing, Was letting The Astros know a fastball was coming, And you throw a guy out for that... Maybe he should of banged on garbage cans and that would be fine.
Max Freedom as a blue jays fan and as much as I hate the whole yankees organization, this is hilarious and shouldn’t have end up with gardner getting ejected.
Aahh, the YES announcers. Sycophants to any Yankee ball player, regardless of how they conduct themselves on the field. The bat banging was an intimidation tactic and he deserved to get his ass tossed for that. I actually like Gardner's spirit and effort, however he acts like a petulant child at times. The umps reacted correctly and squashed Gardner's temper tantrums. No more bat banging. Let's play ball.
Seems like the MLB offices and/or umpiring crews figured that if Brett Gardner wasn't going to stop his bat-banging shenanigans, an ejection would make him cut it out.
Is is good sportsmanship? No but is he yelling at the ump? Kicking dirt on him? Even within a hundred feet of them? No....the umps were looking for a reason to eject him
@@jordanissport Phil Cuzzi - First Base. Cuzzi also tossed CC from this game. The Plate Ump was a fill-in who tossed Boone which got CC and Gardner going.
hmmm, is that really a good look? i guess if you're a "made" man...you can piss off stadium maintenance folks with no fear of retribution...or maybe he was just removing dents and doing the maintenance crew a favor
I dont see why everyone is getting mad at the ump, are they supposed to let this go then eventually have 12 guys doing that at the same time? Stop being a child lol
I agree the ump got that one right. Gardner's routine hitting the roof was downright petulant for a grown man and kinda showing up the umps in process. The mental image of the entire dugout following his lead and hitting the roof with their bats at the same time is quite hilarious 😂.
I get so sick of announcers who are always taking up for childish players. They got deservedly ejected and the announcers should just shut up!! Umpires have some pride and these overpaid players and former players need to understand what it would be like to have thousands of people boo you for doing a job that is difficult.
Marty Mac wrong lol. gardy doesnt just do this unjustifiably... the umps should do their jobs and do them well- as a homeplate ump, you get paid to call balls and strikes well, and if you CONSISTENTLY fuck it up, you get what you ask for.
I don’t understand why they’re trying so hard to defend a weirdo for slamming a bat on the room, like sure, monkeys fling shit but why do the announcers feel the need to defend it
So, if he were to slip and pop a kid "who came to SEE" Gardner play; by the ANNOUNCER'S thought process it'd be an 'unfortunate accident', right? Like a bat coming out of the hands of the batters follow through and flying into the stands...
