@@DaltGeo But the bad voice acting still applies as a "Garfielf" despite the animation improving here. Even if both were intentionally meant to be laughably bad. Think about it.
Garfield speaks without moving his mouth yet Jon can understand and react to what he says, implying that Garfield speaks telepathically to those around him.
I always took for it that what we actually hear is Garfield's thoughts, but Jon knows his cat's postures and emotional expressions too well to actually tell what he is thinking about and make a relevant answer to that - does it make sense? It's the same when people often look at their pets and get an impression they perfectly understand their owners and have a lot going on in their mind, they just can't talk.
Wasn't that the whole point of Garfield Minus Garfield, to highlight exactly that? He's basically just talking to himself and when you're made aware of it, it gets really depressing.
It's great that you remembered to leave Garfield's mouth stagnant. I never liked The Garfield Show for animating his mouth. The whole point of the original comic is that you clearly see a thought bubble over his head, which the original cartoon conveyed perfectly. I have seen lots of versions of Garfielf, but this is the first one that has tried to actually be faithful to the original art style of Garfield in both aesthetic and nature and does such a great job. Excellent work.
wasn't it also kinda ambiguous as to whether Jon could understand Garfield or not and mainly went on his expressions, but The Garfield Show he talked so everyone could understand him
@@ruyekahatori3073 Not at all. Jon never once directly responds to Garfield in the original cartoon. Pairing up coincidences with your studies does not count. Garfield is simply providing a comical narrative over the course of the segments.
@@Notshaner I thought sometimes in the comics Jon would respond to Garfield. i know theres ones where hes like 'dance for me Garfield' 'not a chance' 'im sure Odie would do it for me'
@@ruyekahatori3073 Because he is just sitting there noticing that Garfield is ignoring him. That response doesn't necessarily need provocation to work. It can just be said in a general sense of "he is not going to budge" in his head since Jon notices Garfield does not care at all and he simply decided to move on his own to go find Odie.
The original had its charm in looking like a schizophrenic approximation of Jim Davis' art style. If you take away the spelling errors and replace the voices with real actors, it would just be a normal Garfield animation.
Jon: stuffing your face as normal Garfield: I got to have a good meal Jon: Garfield your so fat why are u so fat Garfield: I eat Jon that’s what I do *Garfield pulls out a m11*
