This is great. Side by side and you let us decide for ourselves. Nicely done. Thanks so much for sharing. Yours is the first video on this comparison that has no fluff, no stupid intros, no one saying "basically" every other word. You voice no real opinion leaving that up to your viewer. Excellent.
Man when i was a kid i remember my dad always had a Garmin, as i got older we started using smartphones and for us Garmins got fazed out, So now years later i was wondering how Garmin was doing considering how popular google maps is. I thought not well or maybe ok just hanging on maybe only really offering a bigger screen and stuff like that But NOPE, Garmen is alive and well and miles ahead of Google maps, dang , its crazy to see far its come
Garmin always is the best. I bought a Garmin driver 51 and up to date 2019 map for free. The Garmin driver 51 help me a lot of time when I drove my car to any stranger city. Garmin let me never get out of my car to ask a stranger person about direction. I feel safe inside my car when I drove with Garmin voice tell me where I go. Thank you, Garmin.
my #1 gripe with a garmin is, garmin's take you on routes that make no sense. my destination was closer to the other highway exit it had me drive past 2 miles then took me another 6 miles to get to my destination. my destination was only 3 miles off the other exit 2 miles back. the only reason I want to continue to use it is because making and getting phone calls during a bunch of map directions on the phone is impossible to follow and talk at the same time. I can't pull the phone away from my face and speakerphone is too garbage for others to hear me good enough. and my work van doesn't have a bluetooth radio. the garmin does but like I said it's all too garbled and people can't hear me and I can't hear them good enough
you should use headphones with a built in play button which will take callls for you. You can just use bluetooth for the phone. I use the Garmin and it's pissing me off...might give a cellular plan a go if it keeps trying to get me killed/miss my exits
Keep in mind this guy is driving in the UK where Garmin digital radio traffic is better. In the US google would be better for traffic, and HD would be poor.....
Well, I've used my GS7 phone back in 2018 on a company working trip to Santa Fe Springs, California. As far as my phone back then it was extremely difficult using it for navigation and getting around. I found out nowadays that it didn't have enough data and memory so it was constantly kicking me out of the navigation map app. I now own a Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G phone and a Garmin DriveSmart 61 but, I will be using the Garmin instead of the S21 phone for navigation purposes. As far as I know that's what Garmin's main purpose is navigation. Some may not agree but, that's the way I feel about it.
garmin tries to lead me into one way streets. and sometimes it doesn't tell you which lane to take when there are 4 lanes that lead to different roads and directions
Can you get traffic information from phone via bluetooth, while at the same time, route calls to car via bluetooth? Also I heard there's a giant red bar somewhere if you are even 1 miles above speed limit? Thanks
+ThisNoName Yes Garmin you have warning red bar about speed camera. You can connect two Bluetooth devices Link below ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yPkwBXFSZ6Y.html
Thanks. People keeps mentioning it was very annoying comparing to the older version where only the numbers turn red. I wonder how bad it is. But somehow you seems always 20 below speed limit ^_^
What happens when you have a prepaid connection or there is no signal (mountain) in your cellphone? That is my nightmare will the cellphone. Thank you very much for the video sir, you helped me a lot !
Google maps is the best. And you can select alternate routes Incase of heavy traffic. And you can say hey Siri give me directions too etc etc and it just goes with ease
NON SENSE Find one that can do this. Get a Poortland Oregoon map. Go to NE 122 and Glisan. Now I am going west on Glisan and am blocked in with traffic. As I suffer PTSD we do not like being trapped and you hear about it all the time when someone trys to jump out of an aircraft at 20,000 feet. Ok Now I am at ne 108 and I know a little about this area. I want to go north on 108 to Halsey and Wielder. Which route do I take to get to Halsey by avoiding ne 102 as it is a mess all the time?
