@@TriMMA343 the venu 2 plus has the ecg. I had one for a week and it works on that model. I returned it for the epix 2, which they say is not supported

There’s internal hardware as well but I’d certainly anticipate some new watches would get it but also would guess not all.

Yeah bro as an iPhone user the I watch is garbage af for battery life. Once they make it days long I'll come back. I'm not buying that elephant watch ultra. I look like a clown wearing that on my small medium wrist size

what exactly are you gaining from ECG readings?

@@surferbois Maybe he has health problems that require him to take readings? Why else would anyone care about that feature? You are fully aware when a big company like Garmin adds features like this it's because it's a feature that's probably been highly requested. You must be young

@@jcap8391 bold of you to assume. I figured people care way too much about ECGs, most people don't need it.

@@surferbois might be usefull to everybody when a smartwatch could measure heartproblems. a colleage has an apple watch which detected wrong heartbeats at night, she went to the doctor and he did some tests and found out there is a problem. Now she has to take pills. And she was in her beginning 40s. But also young ppl might have problems they dont know about. So yeah this can be a usefull tool for anybody 😊

The HR sensor is more accurate for activities like weight training and HIIT on the Pro but for steady state, cardio based activities the sensor on the Epix gen 2 works well.

They never will unfortunately. Look at the Venu. The ecg function was never released outside of the US.

@@j.c.5011 yeah but whats the reason for it? Other countries dont need that feature? Thats stupid. If it doesnt come out for germany, i use US VPN to download it and use it.

There are internal components as well that are needed, not just the sensor itself

It will be 3 main things: dedicated LED flashlight, new HR sensor, and now ECG. Also 3 options for size. 👍

I don't think so. Previous fenix 7 do not have the hardware to support ecg.

Canadian availability will be different than the US due to different governments, healthcare systems, and regulations.

It will likely be country by country so no matter what nation you're in, you'll have to search for news in the local language. Some countries follow US regulations while others don't but you can always put on a VPN for US on your smartphone then follow from there.

Probably not if it requires to touch the bezel with the opposite hand.

Came here to ask the same thing - that's one of the only features that Garmin seems to lack compared to the other big name watches.

I heard it does have the sensor, but the haven't enabled usage of it yet.

Hardware is on board at venu3 but not released till now... hope it comes soonlike ecg function.... germany is still waiting for both Features

Garmin will probably bring temperature to it's Venu 4 when it comes out or some other Garmin watch 😄 that's how these equipment manufacturers work & keep us buying their new devices

You need to update firmware and Garmin connect app to latest settings .Also ensure this is epix pro, not just epix model

All them were using stock watches with each model 👍

What are some examples of 3rd party tools?

@@alexevans0430 Strava for example. If 2FA is not enabled, it is possible to link Strava and Garmin connect together. If 2FA is activated, it is not possible to link them, when trying to do so, you get en internal server error. if Strava was already linked to Garmin Connect before 2FA was enabled, then it appears that the link between the two accounts remains active (however, I'm not sure if they sync yet). All in all, that means that if you buy a new Garmin watch with ECG capabilities and if you enable the ECG feature on Garmin Connect during setup, it will not be possible to link Strava to your Garmin account later on because once ECG has been enabled, 2FA become permanent and there is no possibility to disable it. I've just tried strava but chances are high that the same kind of problem will appear with other apps.

Gosh I use a 3rd party compass app I downloaded from the Garmin connect app 😞 I guess that app will not function anymore. Oh well back to having compass 🧭 on phone 😊

Only available on the Fenix 7 pro models (all sizes - 7S pro, 7 pro, 7X pro) but not the original (non-pro) Fenix 7 series

That is what I was wondering. I know our E2's don't have the latest heart rate sensor. I think the new improved sensor came out a month or two after E2 was available..

There is one reason for getting the Apple Watch. The Apple Watch constantly tracks your heart rhythm in the background whereas Garmin only track when prompted

What do you think of all the people who have the right watch but are not in the us?! They’ll never get this function unfortunately, but they did pay for the hardware. Garmin sucks.
