I bought this just this week. Got it for 475€ in the Baltics. I am really positive surprised and there are some new features in it now (HRV, acute load etc). The screen is really nice on this and even if it is BIG, It feels smaller and more compact than for example the Vertix 2. Maybe that is due to the nylon strap. It is great really!
Great video Dave! I was really curious about this one, so thanks for including the measurements - the size makes this watch a non-starter for me (and most women, I’d guess) so I’ll be sticking with my 945. At 51mm that face would hanging off my wrist 2mm on each side; not exactly comfortable during any run, nevermind an ultra! If we can’t even wear them, it doesn’t much matter what the features are.
So true! I’ve got a small wrist for a guy and it’s borderline too big for my comfort zone. I really like the form factor of the Fenix 6s. Thanks for watching!
I don't need WiFi, Music, or real Maps, and ever since my Vertix, it's all about battery life. The Enduro will be a great partner for my next 100Miler (training & race). Thanks for the insight!
Amazing review…again! Your channel convinced me to get a Garmin for me and my dad. Let’s just say we are on the Garmin train now. I love the Enduro! Thanks again!!
Exactly the same here. I'm drinking tea with sugar or snacking on something watching someone chatting about endurance lol mind you my fenix 6 keeps telling me to rest and not from running but stressful wife lol
Thank you for a good review! I will be sticking with my Garmin Fenix 6x Sapphire. I Just bought the new Garmin 26mm UltraFit Nylon Strap for my F6X. I tested in my scale that the total weight for the F6X and the UltraFit strap comes in 72 grams. The UltraFit nylon strap weights only 6 grams. Enduro steel version comes in that same 72 grams. So i see that Garmin enduro is not any lighter compared to the same size F6X. It is the strap that makes it lighter.
@@ChaseTheSummit Yes that is correct, the F6X steel versions official weight is 93 grams (in my scale 94 grams). The silicone band weights 28 grams. So the silicone band weights around 22 grams more compared to the UltraFit nylon strap.
The strap seems really long! I actually bought a second silicone band for the Enduro and that's quite long as well. Not sure I'm cut out to be a 6X / Enduro wearer judging by how big these straps are! Thanks for watching Matt! Looking forward to your video.,
Was a bit bummed since I just purchased a Fenix 6X pro (at a pretty good price!). Looks like the solar tech and GPS data is still progressing for ultra events. I think I’ll wait until the tech progresses a bit more! Thanks for the thoughtful video! Peace. Chris
You're not missing out on too much. The Fenix 6X Pro still has pretty awesome battery life and more features than the Enduro. The Enduro is really for those who put battery life above EVERYTHING else. Thanks for watching!
Thanks J Pd! I was a little nervous that you guys might give me the thumbs down for the sponsored segment! Reality is, if the channel gets more sponsors I can spend more time on it! This = more content! This is 100% what I LOVE to do. I also really do like PlayBetter as a brand. They've been excellent to work with and may even be able to let me "borrow" certain devices to do more videos in the future. Thanks for watching!
Great review I love my fenix 6x Great to see your channel doing so well. Congratulations! I started watching via my camping channel a year ago now started up a watch channel of my own for my collection. Can't wait for your next video. Good luck. Amazing to see your earlier videos really took off. Clear in depth content.
I have got the Fenix 6s pro. In terms of size it is just perfect and you always wonder, how to fit that many functions in such a small watch. I often use the battery saving modes to get more battery when out hiking or something and it should work properly for most people. I also use the music functions when running or in the tent. Wifi functions makes every download super fast, and the maps are incredible. I think the enduro is a survivors watch, but to expensive for normal users lacking all the cool features even though the case is huge. Only thing enduro has to offer that the Fenix 6 doesn't is battery life also by solar charging. I actually think you get much more for the money by buying a Garmin instinct as that type of watch if you want battery life, lightweight and durability.
Great video, Dave. Thanks for the review. I don't mind it does not have WiFi or local music storage. I don't use those features in my oldie 645 Music. But Detailed Maps, that's makes it a lot harder to buy.
Thanks Miguel! Yeah, not having maps is a bummer. My theory is that the hardware just can't support it because they're using more power efficient components. Fortunately, the Fenix 6X still exists. Great battery life, and maps in the same package! The Enduro is really for that super niche group of people that only care about battery life.
I have a regular Coros Apex. Love it but have wanted to go ahead and get either an apex pro or now an enduro or fenix 6 solar. So many options. I love the idea of having a light watch with great battery life. But shelling out 800 🤷🏻♂️. Great video. Really enjoyed this one and now you have me thinking maybe enduro!
Nice watch for sure, and the battery life is a definite plus for me. I don’t care about maps, music etc. but Garmins in Australia have become ridiculously expensive. So I’ll keep my little Instinct and my Coros Pace (it’s battery is more than enough). But you know, if you want to offload the Enduro I’d certainly take it 👍😊
I think a lot of Coros users might be interested in this one! Except for that price tag... Well, I guess it's not THAT much more than a Vertix. Thanks for watching!
Great review. Thanks as always. I have gone back and forth between fenix 6 and 945. Currently will just stick with the 945 and wait for an update to it or the fenix line. Enduro is lacking too much. Hope the advance sleep tracking and widget comes to the 945 soon as well as trail vo2 Max.
I'm surprised they haven't rolled the Sleep feature to the 945 yet. It's essentially the same watch as a Fenix 6 in a plastic body. I'm starting to wonder if they'll add more functions at this point since the 945 is rumored to be replaced soon. I still love the 945 though! It was ahead of its time. Thanks for watching!
Just finished the David Goggins 4x4x48 challenge and my Fenix 5 battery life lasted for that easily. Right now, that would be the longest event my fitness level can handle so I'm sticking with the Fenix
Nice that it's ultra light and cheap. Oh.. wait. Maybe I'm disappointed because this watch is so niche that even ultra runners don't understand who it's for. Give me a lighter fenix 6 pro solar with more battery and efficiency/performance. The Enduro makes it seem like garmin R&D is frozen, the better battery life has too much compromise (specially for the price), also doesn't help that it looks exactly like a fenix 6X. Anyway, it's a specialized tool, some athletes might find that it checks all their requirements.
I think there's just a limit to physical capabilities that can be crammed inside such a small device. My theory is that the Enduro is not capable of mapping due to storage/CPU power limitations. Adding more storage components / CPU power would likely turn the Enduro into what effectively is the Fenix 6X Pro Solar. I think they took what they had with the 6X, slowed down the CPU, dropped some weight by reducing the internal components of storage/ram, marginally increased the battery size... and Created the Enduro. I'd still consider it innovation and a total flex of their engineering department. They set out to create the best battery life on the market in a watch that still has more features than basically all of the competition. I think they did that. As for who it's for? That's a harder question to answer haha! Super niche! Thanks for watching!
Nice! I think the Fenix 6 is probably the right fit for most people. But if you want all the battery life available? It's nice to have options. Thanks for watching!
I have a Fenix 6X Pro. Changed the strap for a velcro one and put an extra tempered glass protector on. It weighs 67g (stock strap would add 25g more). Also configured my own battery profile with per second GPS, HR, and most other features and got it up to 79 hours of GPS time. Pretty happy with that. Given that, and the things the Enduro lacks, the Enduro doesn't interest me.
Nice! For sure. Like I said in this video. If the #1 thing on your "want list" is crazy battery life then the Enduro is probably a good option. If it's #2... Just get a Fenix 6X because it has way more features and costs less. Thanks for watching!
Nylon band is similar to Apple Sport Loop on Apple Watch, it's comfortable indeed but Apple's loop tends to unclip during swimming, especially in open water. For dry land activities it's the best.
This is definitely great I love my phoenix six pro along way I wish it was a solar model because I am doing half Iron Man’s but didn’t dural makes sense believe it or not I don’t even use my music at all I would prefer a Maps on there but battery life is key especially the sport but so far the phoenix has been working great for me great video I think it might end up getting that strap and giving that a try with swimming as well
There's a lot of folks out there with a map-capable watch that don't ever use the maps. I think the Enduro makes more sense than people think. But that price tag... haha. Thanks for watching!
Tough call. If you want mapping, or music then it might be worth waiting. I can say with pretty high confidence that the Fenix 7 (or whatever they call it) won't be able to compare in terms of battery life with the Enduro unless they do some real magic!
Thanks for the great review. I sold my Fenix 6 pro solar and I am very happy since 1 week with my Enduro. Maybe you can do a quick check: Battery life is around 54 days when the watch is fully loaded in smart mode and around 130 days in energy safe mode. When I enable the heart rate sensor in energy safe mode it is saying 0 days left even if the battery is at 100%. From my point of view the battery should last at least the same time as in standard mode (54 days) when the heart rate sensor is running all the time as well. Garmin told me this is not a bug but I remember from my Fenix 6 a different behavior. The battery is not draining faster. I think this is a little bug in the calculation of the remaining days.
@@ChaseTheSummit That will be great. One more thing: The watch face "Infocal" is not available yet for the Enduro. I guess the developer needs to add the Enduro to the list of compatible devices first. I sent already a mail to him. :)
One other problem is the waypoints do not get displayed on the breadcrumb trail on Enduro. next_waypoint and distance_to_next will display correctly on a screen other than the map screen. So you can scroll to that screen to see which waypoint you are approaching. Fenix 6x pro which has mapping will display the waypoints even if you disable the map layers (disable map layers for better battery performance on a multi day backpacking trip etc and enable if you really need it every now and then to see lakes/markers etc) - so a breadcrumb trail with waypoints displayed and distance_to_next counting down to 0 on the map screen - this lets you stay on one screen to see the waypoint and the distance to that waypoint and the breadcrumb trail to make sure you are not getting lost etc on unmarked off road trails. On Enduro - you have to switch between map screen which displays a line and your current position with no waypoints and the data screen which displays the next_waypoint and distance_to_next. This is okay - but annoying. Garmin has said it will fix it - but no ETA.
Waypoin'ts don't show up? Did you use Garmin Connect to create them? I'm pretty certain they did for me just like on the 745 or 945. I'll have to try this again to make sure. Thanks for sharing!
@@ChaseTheSummit Not Garmin Connect as it usually messes up the turns/waypoints etc. I create the route using caltopo or gaiaGPS as a GPX file and then use Plotaroute to create a fit file which I then manually copy into courses directory. The fit file will make sure that the "next_waypoint" shows up correctly on garmin devices. The same FIT file will show the waypoints on the route on F6X pro while the same FIT file will not show on the route on Enduro. Initially, Garmin said - well some versions of F6, Instinct etc also do not show the waypoints on the route. DCRainmaker contacted Garmin Engineering and they have indicated that this is a bug on Enduro and they will fix it - but no ETA. If you can try and let me know if you see the waypoints on the route, that will be helpful. Maybe they fixed it. tbanks!
Sweet! Been waiting for this. I switched to the Coros Vertix because my Fenix 6 has such crap battery life when I was running 100km+. This might actually get me to switch back to Garmin.
I never thought I'd see Garmin beat the Coros Vertix in the battery department but... it appears that they did. Now the real question: is it worth $300 bucks more? 🤔
@@ChaseTheSummit Quick answer? No. But if this becomes something more than a 1-time gimmick and is turned into a line/range of watches then I'm sure the price'll come down. After all, we're essentially being charged more for a watch with fewer features than the Fenix 6 Solar (especially once the software features are rolled out to the rest of their watches). But this is definitely a step in the right direction.
Great review as always. This watch confirms that waiting another 12 months until making the switch to Garmin should allow them to get the offering right.
Thanks for watching! I'm excited to see what comes on the next Fenix. There's going to be a point where adding new features/sensors to such a small device becomes limiting.
Right now it's only available for the larger 26mm Fenix 6X or Enduro. I think it's safe to assume Garmin will release more sizes in the future. Thanks for watching!
Great review, i completely agree on your final points: It could be a good competitor for Coros, but the price Is way to High! And then, does Garmin really needs to compete with Coros? Wouldnt It be Better if they would continue to develop in Front instead of going back? V02max for Trail Is the best out of It. I hope one day It Will be available also for MTB and Cycling in general.
I think they needed to "go back" because there's an increasing number of people moving to Coros for its simplicity, reliablity, and crazy long battery life. But I think the price of the Enduro might scare off a lot of folks trying to decide between Garmin/Coros. It would have been cool if the Enduro was actually a flavor of the Instinct watch at a lower price with crazy battery life... Even if it didn't have solar. Thanks for watching!
I still prefer the Coros Vertix. The design is a lot nicer and the battery life is similar. I personally even prefer the Coros App over the Garmin App.
They're both pretty sweet! Nice to have options. Sometimes I like the simple and easy to use nature of the Coros App. I just need them to somehow add mapping and improve their fitness scales/V02 Max before I'm 100% on board! Thanks for watching!
Need ur advice, recently im using Fenix 3 till totaly dead a week ago. Was thinking to buy another GARMIN, and imprisoned in doubt between Fenix 6x solar pro vs ENDURO. My sports activity is run, gym and swim. Im not the music person during activity, realy care with battery life. Thanks in bunch, really enjoy ur video.
I have the silver Enduro (stainless version). I'm a little miffed I didn't get the titanium one. The bezel is soft and gets damaged VERY easily. My 6X was rock solid
Thanks for the review! I have recently started getting my kit set up and was curious your thoughts on best way to track all of your fitness. Do you use just Garmin connect, Strava, a combination, etc? Any advice would be great, there seems to be so many options out there.
For me it's a battle because I often jump from different systems for the sake of testing but I try to keep everything in Garmin Connect. The one thing that stays fairly consistent is Strava. Unfortunately Strava's fitness tracking isn't all that great and it's subscription based as of late. So I really only use strava to track milage/time on feet. Hope that helps!
This whole battery life thing reminds me of the computer industry 20 years ago with RAM and storage memory. Every 3-4 months a new computer with better memory and storage capacity was being released. HOWEVER, a big difference is that even if you have a computer that let's say is older and doesn't have a ton of storage, you could always get a USB storage device or now, cloud storage. I've noticed that with these watches (as well as laptops) that after a few years, the battery life really degrades. I have to charge my Garmin Vivoactive 3 (2016) every day now. I love the idea of the Enduro, but that's a steep price top pay for something that will only get worse regarding battery life. Maybe that's the state of technology today.....great review though - thank you.
Ha! That's kind of true. Battery life is certainly the most desired feature when shopping I think. Probably why COROS did so well when they hit the market. Unfortunately the nature of LiPo batteries is that they degrade after "X" amount of charge cycles. My wife has a Fenix 5 Plus that barely gets through a day at this point! Hopefully the graphite tech battery industry takes off soon and changes the game!
Now there are 4 Garmin watches for me to choose from: 745, 945, Fenix 6 and Enduro. Enduro: too expensive (or insane as I call it) Fenix 6: 500-600 Euro - not quite affordable 945: ~ 490 Euro 745: ~430 Euro From a cost saving POV: Garmin Forerunner 745 - here I come!
Great review! And yes it's true that the Enduro's battery life places the watch in a league of its own; however, let's not defend Garmin for leaving out offline maps/music/etc in an $800+ watch! They could have easily included those offline features with a hit to battery life while including a mode to disable those features for people who need the extra battery boost. While the Enduro is a great watch on it's own, in context of the fitness watch market, it feels like the Enduro is a money grab to bridge the gap towards an even more expensive watch with those exact missing features.
My theory is that the hardware isn't capable of mapping since it feels like a less powerful CPU. I'm also wondering if the light 58 gram weight comes from the removal of components like storage chips, copper parts, ram etc... inside the watch? Their goal with this one was to be super light and have crazy battery life... I think they achieved that. For everyone else the Fenix 6 is still a better choice. Thanks for watching!
@@ChaseTheSummit I will let you know :) Actually I was sceptical about Enduro, but you made really good point at the end of video - this watch is not there to compare with other garmins, but it is very good alternative for coros watches. thanks
Hi Dave. I know this watches are different but tell me, is the enduro battery better than the Casio GBD H1000, assuming the Casio can charge completely off the solar? Also can the enduro charge from solar only like the Casio does? I know the Casio doesn’t pull near the enduro in GPS but I have the Casio and can tell you today with 5h of sun it charged 2 bars. Cheers
I think the GBD H1000 would have much longer battery life in smartwatch mode but it doesn't come close to the feature set of the Enduro. I think the Enduro would outdo the GBD in GPS mode but I suppose it depends how much sun is present. These are very different watches though!
I agree. In smart watch mode the Casio can run indefinitely as long as you charge it with sun from time to time. In GPS mode the Casio would also outrun the Enduro in the summer or where you have a lot of sun as it will constantly charge itself. But yeah I get the enduro has way more features but does not come close to the rugged construction of a gshock. Thank you for your answer buddy. Keep doing the good work but don’t forget to rest on the Shabbat 😀
@@ChaseTheSummit thank you for your work! i asked just maybe because there is some information. Because was not going to buy any original garmin band, but with this band they changed my decision.
I really am torn between the 6X and the Enduro. I don’t care so much for music availability on my watch. However, the gps and maps option would be nice. I would be using the watch for multi sport (climbing, hiking, alpinism, running, swimming and biking). Any input on which direction I should go would be greatly appreciated
I think it's pretty simple. If you prioritize battery life over all other features go with the Enduro. If you don't... go with the Fenix 6x because it's better in just about every other aspect.
$800 watch doesn’t have Topo features? 100% deal killer for me. If I go off course at 3am, it’ll be nice to know if there’s a cliff between me and the route.
For sure, this is a super niche product for those who want the best possible battery life and are willing to sacrifice in other departments. For everyone else the Fenix 6X Pro is probably a better fit... and still has really good battery life!
Hey Dave, do you by chance have a video of your personal favorite watch? Or one specified to your favorite qualities of a watch and ones you use the most/things to look out for? New to the channel. Love it. Really want to get a garmin but currently have an apple watch.
I have a hard time nailing down a favorite but the one I reach for on most days is the Garmin Fenix 6s Sapphire simply because it's a nice size/weight and offers maps which I care about quite a bit. If it had better battery life it would be perfect. Another favorite is the 945 because it strikes a really nice balance of features/price. Thanks for watching!
@@ChaseTheSummit thank you so much, I really appreciate and respect all the feedback on comments. If only they had a 6s Pro Solar & Sapphire edition all in one! Haha
Depends what you value more. The 955 has full mapping, offline music, dual band GPS, and the updated heart rate sensor. The Enduro has significantly longer battery life and a metal build quality. What features are more important to you?
Great review, keep up the good work! In regards to the watch, no maps and no WiFi is unacceptable for a watch that big and with that price, regardless of the target audience. Also, It's made for "Ultra-runners" and ultra runners are the ones that need and use those features the most. Seems like pointless product, specially considering that Fenix 7 is rumored to be released this year and we all know how stupid expensive that's going to be
I'm not sure Ultra Runners absolutely need mapping. Coros has proven that it seems like Ultra Runners main concern is battery life. A lot of ultras have GPX files of the course that you can use to navigate rather than using the maps. That said, I do miss the maps! It's one of my favorite features. Thanks for watching!
@@ChaseTheSummit true, battery life is definitely the bigger factor and this watch excels in that department, my main issue is the price honestly, I just can't wrap my head around the huge pricetag. It's definitely a more "niche" product and I understand it can't have everything cause it will take the sales from the Fenix lineup which is pretty much the jack of all trades. Btw, your channel has been growing a lot and with good reasons. I wish you the best of success here in youtube. Keep the quality, honesty and consistency of your content and this channel will grow exponentially.
@@jmsantiago1 I agree about the price. It's steep! I kind of wish they stuck the guts in a lower tier body like the Instinct or Forerunner and priced it lower. But... it is what it is! Thanks for the kind words!
Question... going from the fenix 5x where during a run when I turn my wrist to look at my watch in the dark the screen lights up for a few seconds but the Enduro only seems to do this when I'm using trail run!! I'd like to have this during run and ultra run mode. Is this option in settings? Thanks Jason
reckon the Fenix 7 will be here by August 8th? got a 50K that weekend and trying to decide which watch to get.. would really love if the Enduro had maps!
The Enduro looks like it might be my next watch in a few years. Been running with the Forerunner 15 and now Forerunner 25 for the past few years. Currently upgrading from the VivosmartHR to Garmin Instinct Solar. Looking forward to less time charging and use that for daily fitness monitoring and runs. Odd question. Is the end of your tattoo λείπεις or λείπει? It is a sick tattoo by the way. I have been reviewing my Greek the past few days and did all the paradigms: I leave, you leave, he/she/it leaves... ect so it sparked my curiosity. End in a iota or sigma? Thanks.
Great review! For me personally the Enduro is not the watch to go. I think it's just too much money for less features than eg fenix 6 pro. Especially Music & Maps. I wanted to purchase my first gps watch for running, biking, mountaineering so I made a really good deal for the fenix 6 pro a few weeks ago, but returned it... I just felt uncomfortable because it is too heavy for me, especially while running and at night. I think the FR 945 would be the perfect watch for me in terms of weight and functionality but I somehow don't like that it only has a 1.2'' screen. I'm really looking forward to the forerunner 955. I planned to wait until it is out hoping it has a 1.3" screen. Are there some new information on when the 955 is going to start?
I will remain at my Coros Vertix+Fenix 5x. Enought battery, data accuracy, and in case i get lost, i have...Garmin Fenix5x offline maps.:) Garmin failed with removing the maps...very big mistake.
Like I said in the video, this isn't a replacement for a Fenix with mapping. It's really just another option for those who want the absolute best battery life and are willing to sacrifice in other departments such as maps. But yeah, it's tough to swallow at $800 bucks, I wish they housed the technology in a plastic case and dropped the price to something cheaper than a Fenix 6 Pro. Still... The Coros Vertix isn't cheap either! Thanks for watching!
The wrist you wear the watch on unquestionably makes a difference for my Fenix 6 for track accuracy. Its very bizarre and confirmed with many other people experiencing the same issue (created a post on Garmin support that has hundreds of replies with similar issue). If I wear my watch on the right arm the tracks will overlap well on an out and back...if I wear my watch on the left arm there will be a massive gap as the track shifts left in both directions. I had similar issues with Fenix 5. I may never have really noticed but I use citystrides.com to do heatmapping of roads and having a shifted GPS track matters when trying to get all the nodes of a road for it to be considered completed.
I think it really comes down to where the satellites are located in the sky in relation to your body. Your body becomes an obstacle depending which wrist you're wearing the watch on. We're really splitting hairs though. I think generally most Garmins are fairly accurate but they're certainly not perfect. Thanks for watching!
@@ChaseTheSummit I think in most cases you are right and people don't notice or care if there tracks on the maps are shifted as long as the distance is ok. There is definitely something with the Fenix and the antenna location that causes this shifting behavior though that I hope they solve with software or in the next gen.
@@ChaseTheSummit it’s 2 years old and I am using it 24/7 with off only Pulse oximetre. I am working out with gps 1,5h a day. Would tou recommend taking it to service and change the battery?
So Garmin going Apex Pro? Cool.. next move Suunto. Btw im still with my Ambit3Peak and thoughts of getting a new one. No I dont need tons of maps, wifi capabality even color display or music player. Heck I dont even need phone notifications. I want a lighter watch with a superb battery life, accuracy and durability. Only thats matter during an ultra race.
This watch is just to expensive and I don’t like the look. I’d like to know more about the suunto 9 baro? Have you reviewed it? I currently have a fenix 5 plus which I love and recently bought a coros vertix space traveler. Think about a suunto 9 baro next? Is this a watch a good watch?
I've had a 9 baro for a while but haven't gotten around to reviewing it. To be honest by todays standards I think there are a lot of better options for the money. It doesn't offer the best GPS accuracy, and has fairly basic features. That said, if you're in the Suunto ecosystem it might be worth it. I might create a video soon. Thanks for watching!
My garmin fenix 6 is having heart rate issues within the last week or so. It’s reading very low. I’m not sure if garmin did some update that messed things up. Before that it was pretty accurate.
@@ChaseTheSummit no new band. I’m not sure what is going on. It started when I did a 20 mile mtb ride and wont come back to normal. It’s prob 10bpm low. Maybe the bike ride made me that much fitter for running. 🤣
Great review like always. How do they get this huge battery life? The watch is the same size as the fénix 6x so it should be similar. Sadly this watch is just too big for my chicken wrists.
I think its a combination of things. The backlight feels a little different, the CPU or processing power feels slightly slower, and the fact that theres no music/maps on board means less circuitry on the board which results in less power consumption even when those things aren't in use. Kind of like how a big pickup truck will still guzzle gas even when it's idling. I'm purely speculating but it seems like they made a handful of minor tweaks to add up to this tremendous battery life! I'm hoping they make similar models in the 47mm and 42mm form factor. An Enduro S with like 50 hours of GPS-on time in a small foot print would be sweet! Thanks for watching!
Great review, Dave! I wonder when exactly Fenix 7 will be released. Any leaks? I’ve been waiting for F7 for many months now, patiently, sticking to my Garmin Venu Sq in the meantime 😅 not so bad, after all
The only thing I wish it had was the offline maps, though I’ve never missed having them on my Ambit 3 Peak. I have never wanted music or wifi but do prize battery life for long multi-day adventures across multiple sports (gravel into a run, into a climb then reverse home). Guess I’ll have to keep using my phone for maps.
@@ChaseTheSummit I, and plenty others, have button issues on the fenixes. 6x in my case. My up button suddenly turned "mushy" and i have to press it alot harder for it to work. Others have other weird button behaviours. Seems like a quallity issue. Mine failed in less than two months. And thats my least used button even...
Great review Dave. I found there same thing regarding both the lightweight and comfortable design, and the accuracy of the OHR and GNSS. Btw., I think some of your links above doesn't work.
@@ChaseTheSummit I tried to open the affiliate links to see your favorite gear. Only the link to your favorite phone worked for me. Maybe it's something with my browser?
I think it's the same Sony GPS chip as just about every other watch on the Market these days and the antenna design is the same as the Fenix 6X so I would expect similar results.
Hey Dave. The Enduro came with a software feature (now rolled out to all of Garmin's top tier watches) where it now calculates VO2 Max for trail runs (not just regular road runs). Have you had the chance to test this out yet?
For sure, it's one of the features I'm really excited about. I've only had the watch for a couple of weeks so it's hard for me to judge it's accuracy. I have a long history with my V02 Max in Garmin Connect so it will be interesting to see if things change for the better or worse. So far my number hasn't changed despite several trail runs. I'll be sure to update if there's any surprises!
