I have both a 6X pro solar and an Enduro. Being a watch collector, I have quite a few pricey swiss pieces in my collection. Ever since I picked up the 6X pro 7 months ago, I have yet to wear any of my other watches. In fact, the fenix has almost made lose interest in other watches altogether. Like you said in the video, build quality is phenomenal, extremely comfortable to wear, tracks everything, incredible battery life and just extremely satisfying to wear in general!
Thank you for this comment. The brown leather band came with my Fenix 6X and I actually use it when the wife and I go out or I have to 'dress up'. Your comment on other watches.. my wife has wanted a Rolex for a long, long time. She told herself that when she could afford one.. got her 'goal' job she would treat herself with a Rolex. She is in that role now and said she doesn't really want one anymore because she would have to take her Fenix 6S off. She loves hers as much as mine. I have to admit she is a much more hardcore user. She uses it for everything, including her marathon training.
Awesome, no fluff, meat & potatoes review. Loved your perspective; probably because I share a lot of the same thoughts on the differences and end-user markets these devices both serve. Having had 3 Apple watches, I have now switched to the Fenix 6X Pro. This thing is a beast, taking anything I throw at it, and gives me all the data I need & then some. For a runner, or any outdoor activity type, there is no comparison.
Thank you for the comment. We recently spent 6 days in NW Utah and I didn't even need a charger!! I was also able to use it for downhill mountain biking. Was so cool to see the times and route down the mountain. Like you said for outdoor activities there is nothing better.
I needed watch this video! Thanks man, 10 minutes ago, I bought the Fénix 6X. And you comparison between battery’s is very real. Apple Watch everybody has, and let me tell you something, it’s scratched just with see. Greetings from Colombia.
I agree with everything you said. I have the Tactix Delta Solar w/ ballistics. I really wished this was out when I was in the military to use the jumping features. I don't jump anymore. I gave my Apple Watch to our oldest son and after an hours, he is putting it down! I just started messing around with fitness age. Now that I hit the big 60, I am obsessed with getting my fitness age down to 53. That's my attainable age score.
Thanks mate for this informative video. I got an Apple Watch series 7. It is great for in a city watch, going to office and light workout. Not so great in the battery life, when hitting the trails out in the bush. Two hours into my run, I started to get battery anxiety as my Apple Watch drops down to 50%. Going to pick up a Garmin 6x Pro for my next trail run. Planning to rock them both, for different occasions.
I have the Fenix 6X Pro Solar (love it & totally depend on it) and had the whole Fenix 5 line prior. Looking forward to Garmin releasing the Fenix 7 series, should be mind blowing.. Thanks! 🇺🇸
Thank you for your comment! I am excited about what will come to the Fenix 7 (Lucky 7!) but I will probably give it a few months, at least, to let Garmin work out the little bugs in the software. I normally upgrade things often but won't mind waiting for a while as the 6X is so damn good.
I’ve watched lots of fenix 6 reviews. This was great. But I travel for a living and can be in a different place. From one day to another. The one thing I LOVE is the round trip course. Where ever I am I select a round trip course and it gets me from and back to my hotel easily.
The great thing about the Garmin Fenix and travel is not always needing to take a charger. We have gone on ski trips and I haven't needed to charge it for days!
Congrats! I just checked.. I bought my 6X in early January 2020 and it’s still running strong, including the battery. If I didn’t say in the video.. I recommend changing data recording to every second and turn off PulseOx entirely. You can add PulseOx widget and check as needed. Getting great battery life with this. I also don’t use third-party watch faces as those drain the battery more than normal.
Great video. We just traded our Samsung devices for new iPhone 13’s. Now we are thinking of an Apple Watch 7, but then watched this. Really makes us reconsider. Thank you.
I got Apple Watch series 7, great for inside of an office and light workouts. For more outdoor activities, I’m planning to buy a Garmin to do all of the tracking that I need without living in fear of wearing a brick.
I hate when I couldn't see the time on my Apple Watch because the screen was black, especially on the boring meetings when I couldn't also move my hand to enable light on it, so everyone will spot it. With my garmin I can see it easily. Another big issue was the battery. Had a situation that I was going for a shooting range competition and at the morning I noticed I forgot to charge my Apple Watch... 600 euro and I couldn't use it when it was needed :-( Now I'm super happy with Garmin instinct solar tactical watch.
I own an Instinct and it's absolutely amazing. The Instinct Solar came out after I bought mine. I seen a reviewer talking about the solar Instinct and he stated that if you spend alot of time outside you might not even have to charge it due to how easy it is on battery usage.
I love the Instinct… have always wanted one. An update to battery life of my Fenix 6X. We have been in Utah since last Wednesday. I think I charged up on Monday. We have hiked & biked using GPS. It’s Monday and I’m at 62% remaining battery.
@@TCinSoCal That's awesome. I want the Fenix 6x so bad but I'm fighting that temptation to hold out for the Fenix 7 whenever they deside to release it.
Trust me the instinct solar is worth the money it's done right and is my backup for long camping/fishing/hunting trips. I had a limited edition fenix 6 (possible x) pro solar, the solar is more snake oil in my experience and it was extremely uncomfortable but the display was phenomenal. If you buy the fenix Go gorilla glass over sapphire. And wear it like you stole it. They make protectors aswell.
Yeah! Man's watch. I owned the Apple Watch 6 and sold it 3 months later. I loved all the features, especially phone calls, but it looked like a girly toy 😂. I bought an Instinct Solar instead and Wow!!! I am a G-shock guy too ... however the 6 pro Sapphire buddy... I think I'll pull the trigger soon))
Excellent honest to the point review bro. I am the same. Started with AppleWatch 3, then Garmin 935 and back to AppleWatch 6. I am actually in the process of getting the Fenix 6 now as I don’t think the AppleWatch suites my daily needs like you. Price is coming down now. I guess the Fenix 7 probably is around the corner. Good time to buy the 6 I suppose. Thanks Bro.
Thank you for the comment. Before you buy, check with your insurance company to see if they offer any incentives or discounts with a health device. Also, some companies will pay you some money to put towards a watch like this. For example, a friend gave me a 30% off code from her health insurance company and then on top of that my company gave me $150 towards the health device.
Thank you. I went back and forth many times. We just got back from a ski trip and the Garmin was awesome. Several days of skiing and didn’t have to charge.
Yes. This is definitely an area where the Fenix doesn’t ‘fit’.. dress shirts. I only have to wear a dress shirt a few times a year so it doesn’t impact me..luckily.
I returned mine. The HR was all over the place while riding my mountain bike. At some point there was a difference between my chest monitor and the 6X pro by 30 beats. It happened all day. Accurate in everything else but not for what I do the most MB. even garmin says that it can be inaccurate while on bike rides !!!
I hike all the time, I use workoutdoors to download the maps on to my apple watch but the battery life has been getting so poor, I want to see the comparisons on the map accuracy and overlays
I think Garmin is more accurate. It doesn’t do the ‘smoothing’ that Apple does. There is a guy who reviews the Garmin watches..& Apple. He does extensive testing. I’ve done hikes, bikes, etc with my. Fenix 6X and very happy with the accuracy. I just recently did a walk with Apple Watch & Fenix (not posting maps of where I live) and both did great. The AW did have more ‘smoothing’.
This review is spot on. The amount of times I returned both devices deciding make your 3 or 4 times look normal. Not proud of that. I have the enduro strap too and it is a game changer for sure. Solid review. Cheers.
@@MikeGonzalez777 Thank you for your comment Mike. Don't sweat it.. I did the same thing.. (back and forth).. but I am done now. One thing.. not sure if I mentioned in the review was just how much I like that I can hit a button without looking at the watch during an activity to see certain data. During a walk, I know I can hit the button twice to see time for example.
@@NeverFollowTheCrowd not gonna lie… though mine would be dead by now. Still get weeks of battery life. Now if you run/hike/etc with GPS for hours a day you don’t get weeks. I think it’s rated at 60 hours of GPS. My wife’s Fenix 6S only last a week or less.. but she does LONG runs.
@@TCinSoCalmine too. I got a gently used 6x sapphire (only used for 1 month and looks flawless) for $275 USD. Absolute steal. I don't need the 7x, Enduro 2, or epic....yet I'll buy an Enduro 2 in 3 years
@@Tmacademia ABSOLUTE STEAL!! Nice!!! The 6X Sapphire is so good. I don’t need the 7X.. will get only if my 6X ever dies. My favorite piece of tech. Wow. Under $300. I think I paid over $800.. buy got help with company insurance reimbursement.
Great review. I Love my fenix 5 (regular model) and I simply love him more than my car or my motorcycle etc. You're right about all, this piece of technology simply amazes me.
Thank you for your comment. While I agree with your analogy, I think it was important to compare the two as the Apple Watch is so popular and many people face this dilemma... battery life and more 'intense' activity tracking... to name a few.
