@@distancerunner6211 if you're looking at the 945 (for multi sport stuff) be aware they're working on updated versions at the moment: a 955 and a 955 LTE. No idea when they'll release, it could still be many months, just FYI that that's the rumour. From March: gadgetsandwearables.com/2020/03/14/garmin-forerunner-955/
I agree with the comments. A "new model" with only two more software features is confusing. Why not simply add a software update to the existing 45/45s?
Hey Shane, nice unboxing. I realized after my comment yesterday that I bought the 45s for my girlfriend and not the 35. My little research showed me that the 45 and 45s both had the same screen size, only the casings were different. 45s being smaller - less bezel. I think she’ll be okay without the Plus features 🤫 😆🤣 Thanks again 👍
How many Garmin watches do you have? 😀 Seriously though do you use particular watches for particular activities or sessions? I currently have and love the 245 and, as I mentioned in a previous post, I am eagerly waiting for the 955 to be released but was in a quandary as to what to do with the 245 when I do get a new one.
Nice video! I’m disappointed that the Plus version only gives Race Prediction and Recovery time. Surely they could have squeezed some other features in? For that price it would probably make more sense to get a second hand 235
@@shanebow I think that more sport selection is needed, ie. some swim & hydro running, gym / fitness modes so this would make it even better as basic watch for basic sport for "average joe" etc. Polar has their option with even much wider sport selection, still waiting Garmin answer (at same pricepoints) for people who are considering buying for example Polar Ignite.
What’s your thoughts on the Forerunner 955 rumours? Would be great to see a video of what your thoughts are and what your ‘wishlist’ would be for it. They speculate that it would come out in September and I am tempted to get it if it has the right features.
I really don't know what to think. LTE could be great for maps... But I can't see it as the places you'd need the maps you wouldn't get the coverage, so I'm really on the fence on that. Making a video and pulling the rumours together is a good idea. I'm toying between 3 videos this week now and that is one of them
But these are only software stuff, aren't they? So there is a slight chance that eventually Garmin will release an update for the 45/45s, with these features (not in the near future, I kinda expect it for the end of 2022) or put it into the Garmin Connect. By the way these features aren't those I'd kill to have, so I'm still completely fine with the FR45 since last summer. :-)
This is good example why it's easy to love and hate Garmin. Easy to love their products and easy to hate their politics. Time will tell which watch I will buy when it's time to upgrade Fenix 5, it's gonna probably be cheaper model next time.
@@huuhaa5896 F5 is looking really desirable, but if I consider that what and how I'm using my watch, I have to say that he FR45 is just enough for me, perfectly. The price gap between the two devices is not something I coud swallow..
@@balogh89 Yep only reason I bought this was price bit over 200€. But sure those newer models has better HRM and I think there's also bodybattery function in those if that what you would want. For Fenix 5 it's been rumored to bee at beta fw (bodybattery), but probably never as update even after they brought First beat.
Agreed, they bought Firstbeat, so they dont have to pay for licensing anymore, so they just going to release plus models with additional Firstbeat metrics instead of pushing them with a software update.
