Good points all around! But the updated sensor on the I2 makes it also more attractive - plus the sleep analysis and score, which aren't available on the original instinct. I would say go for the Instinct 2 and if you can't afford save until you can versus a discounted original instinct 1. Thanks for sharing!

Great question! The battery widget I showed that display the estimated number of days remaining is simply a ConnectIQ store third-party app that I use when I track battery life. And you can find the remaining number of days battery bar in most of the data customization on the watch faces if that’s what you mean. But I know that the specific one I had displayed was in correlation with the solar data Complication on the watch face

Yes it totally does, and thank you so much for saying. In terms of significant feature differences the body battery feature is a huge wellness benefit that you would get even if you jumped to a 6X. Otherwise there’s not as much difference and it may be a better experience if you are coming from the 5X

@@mattheweastman8984 I did. Main cause the Pulse Ox turned on all night while sleeping. If you turn off, battery will last much more.

Hey thanks for commenting and letting me know, and yes that is exactly how I saw the later releases! It was like there wasn’t complete uniformity with some of the internal features from the flat out original instinct through the solar and specialty series

Same here. I still love my fenix 6 but the unlimited battery life of instinct 2 solar model is really appealing.

Yep - just too hard to read for me unf. I would look at the 945 LTE (NOT original 945) or wait a couple of weeks bc the rumors are that the 255 could be coming out, which would accomplish everything you would want from the Instinct 2. Thanks!

Sure thing, to each his own! Items that I do know are included in this definitely make up for the difference if you do a lot of training and want detailed analysis, and need more accurate heart rate on top. And some of the new features on the higher end watches are coming to the I2 as well. Otherwise the instinct 1 will be just fine for basic health and general tracking. Here is my basic list and what I would say is the value: New heart rate and pulse ox sensor - $75 (at least) Full high end (so only expensive Garmin watches had it previously) training analytics - $100 Double resolution - some $ Sleep analytics/score - $50 Morning Report likely to come down update line - $30 So well worth it imo. And I have to buy all of my own watches for review so can’t keep a number on hand. And the instinct 1 didn’t off the value to consider doing so. If you’re looking at less expensive options you’d be much better with the 245 bc it has some of the training analytics. Thanks!

Great question! For me, I would go with the F6 Pro and a chest strap or arm band for heart rate accuracy in a workout. For sure. the screen quality of the F6 coupled with mapping and visual display is a big difference to me

@@fitgearhunter I'm not quite sure if we had it on the Garmin Instinct 1. But we had that on the Instinct 1 solar version that launched later.

Yes Jones...moon phase is on ver 1, a little different. I am currently debating ver1 or 2 and solar or non solar. Improved HR and sleep stats, etc... I don't want to mess around...after trying the ver1 I am hooked on Garmin.Got one in the cart, about to pull the trigger

@@ericchapman9802 yes you definitely have to upgrade just for the sleep analytics and sleep score benefit alone, in my opinion. Solar or non-solar is a personal preference because the battery life is pretty stellar regardless, but definitely the 2
