Im very glad you found it helpful. That was my goal when I decided to make this video. I wanted to help people understand the settings so they could adjust their settings and catch more fish!
Thank you for the subscription and the channel support. There are a lot more Garmin videos in the Garmin marine playlist that you might find equally as use full. This is the link to the Garmin videos playlist: ru-vid.com/group/PLyBi_6HF-i1csjdDH9EQ68BxKv2h2SXxr&si=dZr2MBcnc9oQ6gEI
So glad you made this video. Thank you. Now I have a little more understanding and will begin dialing my unit in without as much stress!!! Keep up the great work. Have a nice day.
There really isn’t a one size fits all because it depends on so many factors. I prefer to run CHIRP for swordfishing because it gives me a clearer image in the screen. If you are fishing them in a certain depth range, you can utilize the shift feature to set the sonar to only look at that range of water and the image will be even clearer. I use the shift feature when I am sword fishing because I only look at like the bottom and 400 feet up from there and I can mark squid in 1500 feet of water on the sea floor. If you haven’t seen the shift feature video, here is the link to it. I think this will be a major help. Without this feature enabled and only focusing on a section of the water column, I would not be able to mark the bait at all. Just took delivery of my boat yesterday, 2021 8600 series in it. I can only see clear vu and side view sonar, can’t get the traditional screen. I’ve gone through all the menus and can’t figure it out. Can anyone help?
Are you sure that you have more than one transducer installed on your boat? If you cannot see it on your menu it could mean that you do not have another one installed or that there might be an issue and it is not picking it up
I have a GT35 or GTM35 on my boat which has clear Vu and side view but not traditional. I’m not familiar with the transducer that you have on yours. I don’t really use that transducer on my boat. I installed it so that I could read water temperature because I have an in hull transducer and it cannot read water temperature since it sits inside the boat and doesn’t physically touch the water.
@@pescatarianfishing So I spoke to someone at Garmin, that is the case with my boat. The transducer I have is the same as yours, does not have traditional view. I have to get a GT56, oh well.
