I just purchased my Garmin 750t because other friends had one. Your video helped me out more than downloading the manual. You actually used the use in real life forms which I can use. Cheers and Happy hunting!!!
Legend. Cheers for clearing those questions up Daz. Much appreciated. I have been playing around with the rino abit and found if the compass is turned off the GPS always seems to give a accurate position when looking at the pointer on the map. This only works once you're actually moving and turning on the spot will not move it like a actual compass. Magnetic interference from my gear is sometimes to great to just hold at arms length and rather than removing the gear I've just turned the compass off and moved to get the GPS to update my pointer showing the correct direction again. Just thought I'd mention this incase it helps anybody else.
Your spot on Antonio. The gps will always give a better read on the move. I use a bit of a combo depending on the terrain and cover. It’s all about learning and understanding the tech. Thanks for your input and support, much appreciated.
Very informative and handy to know that other people have the same problems that I have been having with my units. The basecamp video would definitely be a go as well Daz I think that there is a lot in the software to look at. Look forward to the next upload cheers for all the info Daz
G’day Daz, this video helped so much, just started using rino, kept doing circles, then remembered the compass calibration function, fixed issue immediately👍
Great information Daz Yes, turn the Roger beep of gents lol. Some other good points to talk about Daz maybe recording activities, as if not changed activity starts as soon as turned. Customising data fields and customising power key and call key ie you can save power by turning screen into sleep mode. Changing position format and map datum to coincide with the paper maps you may be using, and lastly download the full manual to your mobile to files for light reading in camp.
Wow, Daz. This device is powerful. I'm glad I came in today and bought one, otherwise I probably would've put it off for another year. As I mentioned to you earlier, I'll have a play around on the comp with Basecamp and touch base with you if I have any issues. Thank you very much. Cheers Sal.
Hey Daz! Im loving all your videos mate! I just purchased a rino 750 and im having trouble loading maps and staye forrest maps onto it! I was just wondering if you would do a quick video on it? Im sure others would be interested in this aswell! Cheers mate keep up the great work!!
Daz, you are a champion. Thanks to your video, we can finally get rid of that bloody Roger tone . Hahaha Your content is always enjoyable mate , Thanks for the effort you put in. Take care 🤘
Thanks Johnny! Glad you got something out of it mate. It’s a sometimes thankless task but it’s the guys like yourself that appreciate the content and take the time to support the Chanel that keep it going. Cheers bud! 👍🏾👍🏾
Hi mate is there a product available to charge a battery in a cradle whilst at camp. All I can find is that you have to charge a battery through the unit itself. Thanks for the tips and tricks they are great
My 750 always when selecting waypoints in where to calculates routes for cars, it’s got me buggered how to change this for being on foot, using v5 maybe v6 Thanks for the flick the manual is pretty basic learnt a lot today Ty
Hi Anthony, not at this stage as far as I’m aware. It does have a Bluetooth link to your phone but what’s the point when we have no reception right? It would be good to see integration. I’d say that will be on future models 👍🏾
Thanks for the great vid mate. Just got a 750 and I have a question about polling. Can you see other users through polling if you are not in each other’s contacts?
Hey Jase, when a rino broadcasts it’s signal. All users in range on the same Chanel will see it. If the person receiving hits ‘add to contacts’ they will be able to see your position. This can essentially happen without your radios content and can be a one way deal. If you don’t want this to happen you need to set polling to off. Best practice to use a ctss Chanel but even then you can be scanned. To be honest not an issue if your amongst other law abiding hunters and probably safer that others in your area now your there. Another thing to note, the rino doesn’t have a massive range so it really will be only the people in your immediate area that can see you on map. 👍🏾👍🏾
@@IntotheMountains thanks for the reply Daz. I was thinking about the safety aspect of it, I’d like to know I’m not shooting in the direction of another hunter that I can’t see. I’m new to your channel and enjoying the content, keep up the good work mate.
Hey daz vids have been very helpful! I am having some issues with the radio, I have two of the 750s one for me and the misso and sometimes the transmissions don’t come through?? GPS works great though!
Hey Tomo, double check your on the correct Chanel (and CTSS). That polling and location send is switched on both radios. Then on the power button, the volume setting is not on mute, nor the little icon under the volume with the little lines. There should be no red strike through either of them. Failing that, squelch settings or off to Garmin tech support I'm afraid. Daz
Thanks for the rundown on the 750 I have had four with the same problem (squelching on ch 40 useless if your trying to communicate on the truck channel) Garmins reply was return for a refund BS
Hi Daz, just wondering about an annoying feedback tone through the UHF sometimes when talking to someone? I sometimes get it, I'm not actually sure, but it seems like if the RINO is close to binos in a chest pouch, it can interfere....have you noticed anything or have any answers? Cheers, keep up the good work!
It can be a number of things mate. If its just when you speak. Its at your end. Make sure no electronic devices to close to unit. Check squelch settings. Sometimes a Chanel change will help. If you have any metal, batteries, phone, magnets within 30cm of the unit this can happen. if its really bad you could try a lower transmission power level too. Hope that helps mate.
I just got one and thanks for the info but I’ve had issues today trying to use it as a uhf radio in Adelaide, every channel I’m meant to be on is white noise and impossible to use, any ideas?
I find the radio volume on the Rino755t is not as high as the older models such as the Rino700, is that a manufacturer setting or a glitch with my radio?
I haven’t heard any whispers of a new model. The 650 is still going strong for over a decade. I can’t see any reason why the 750 wouldn’t be in service for just as long. If your considering this unit I’d say go for it as with all things technology they all get updated sooner or later. 👍🏾
Hey daz, dont know if its been asked or not but i have trouble with my unit buzzin(vibration if ive got the sound off) or making radio noise every few minutes constantly. So end up having to turn my radio off to stop the distraction which is not ideal if my mates are trying to contact me.. Cheers mate 🦌🤟🏻
Hey Bryce, The first thing that comes to mind is your squelch settings. Try a lower setting that may help. Second is check for interference. Try your radio all by itself away from everything. Sometimes your phone, headlight or other electrical/metallic/magnetic items can give you feedback. Lastly try a different Channel or lower power setting. Hope that helps you out mate.
Hi mate, hoping you might be able to answer this for me please. with my rino 750 I have to re calibrate it every time I use it... problem is, that it doesn't always want to re calibrate? Old models of handheld gps I used didnt need to re calibrate every time...is this normal? thank you !
I wonder if you mates down under have heard of the BTech GMRS Pro ? These radios are programmed for the United States General Mobile Radio Service frequencies, UHF 462 to 467 MHz. They also have GPS combined with the two way radio. They are much cheaper than the Garmin Rino. Here in the US they cost $139.00 whereas the Garmin Rino’s cost $650.00. Their antenna is much better than the Rino and the antennas are interchangeable. You have much better range than the Rino. The downfall is that they project all maps on your cell phone or tablet computer through Bluetooth. That means you must carry a cell phone with you. This can be an old phone without active service. I hope that the future versions will incorporate the map screen, but for now the price of the BTech beats the Garmin by miles.
Sounds like a great alternative. I’ve not heard of them so will have a look 👀 into it. We do have very specific frequency laws in place here so that maybe why. Thanks for your comment
It will save battery Remy. Its all relative to how much you transmit but the short answer is yes, running the lower power will give you more battery power for a longer period.
Hey daz garmin memory card are around 2 to 4gig i think. What i am trying to work out what size memory card the 750 can take and moving everything from the garmin sd card to a larger sd card for memory.
Not sure on that one mate. I've been filling my standard card for years with thousands of marks and never filled it. Are you having a memory space issue?
@@IntotheMountains no mate i just find with electronic sdevices that take memory seem to run better. As i play with electronics all the time. Not had much time to sit down and play with the rino
I bought a 750 a month ago and the thing is constantly receiving a transmission on all channels and emits constant static noise. The noise stops when choosing a squelch code. Garmin replaced the unit and when I turned on the replacement it seemed fine. Turned it on again half an hour later and it has the same problem. Anyone heard of this before?
Love the content, don’t think we can use the 5 watt in Canada for whatever reason. Something to do with government controls… go figure! O well stick with 2 or 1/2 watt
Anyone know if i am able to send messages/texts or emails to mobiles on the Rhino 750? Just bought one and hoping i can stay connected to my family at home while out hunting.. Appreciate any info on this question ✌️
I have the 755t and my hunting buddies do too gps is great but the radio sucks range is horrible my cheap midland radios wo r k way better. My radio gets updated every year.
