In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens ru-vid.comUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.

I picked this up for my kayak last year and I have no complaints!

Ive been contemplating buying one for a while now. I have a $10 rebate for menards and with then doing the 11% rebate now, ill get another $11 back. My problem is that if i don't pull the trigger right now, i wont do it. $119 on amazon with next day shipping or $90ish at menards!!!??? Maybe ill stop by before work tomorrow! This is one the best reviews I have seen for this Garmin. I have a question. My dad has a bass boat with fish finders. I can never figure out which way anything is pointing. The screen does not put the location of structure into relationship with the boat or the direction. Maybe it is me.

A fish finder that doesn't show fish. My Garmin240 showed fish and depth and size. I cant figure this new Stricker out for the life of me. Sending it back to amazon with a poor report

This works great for me on my kayak. Bought it at Bass Pro with a military discount. Was going to use an transducer arm until I watched a video on a magnetic transducer mount. I like it a lot. Been out about ten times with it and no issues. Check it out. Bought the magnetic mount from www.fishfindermounts.com

Thanks for the video. I am looking into one of these or similar. Do you think they would be able to locate a small boat motor in about 40 feet of water. I dropped mine off the back of the boat and would love to find it again. Do they pick up metal/aluminum? I am looking at one it says it has " CHIRP ClearVu scanning sonar" do you think it would work?
