could you clarify where/how this would connect to the existing round yamaha guages

It connects to your Yamaha hub. You should see it behind your console where wiring is. It will say Bus, device, etc.

Just want to be clear.....This can connect from a yamaha outboard to a Garmin gpsmap without using a Yamaha Gateway? Thank you...

This is a Garmin cable that goes from the chart plotter to a Yamaha connector. You will need to buy a Yamaha Pigtail Bus cable (6y8-82521-01-00 / ***this is a 1' cable, there are various lengths) to connect directly to your outboards data cable or it can be plugged into a Multi hub (6y8-81920-01) if your boat has it. If all your multi hub connections are used, then buy a command link pigtail (6y8-82521-80-00) remove a connection and put this Y harness in, it will hook up without having to wire in an additional Multi hub.

So this would connect where your power source goes on your garmin. I have the echomap ultra 106sv and was going to do NMEA 2000 but this looks simpler since I have the Yamaha connector already

The white connection goes into the Yamaha hub. Can it go into any “device” port?
